The anime adaptation of Fujino Omori's fantasy light novel "Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?" also known as "DanMachi," is getting a fourth season, and we finally know when! The staff and cast from the previous season, including director Hideki Tachibana, return for season 4. The news comes via the fantasy anime's official Twitter handle.

Omori's light novels have received two manga adaptations and an anime television adaptation by J.C.Staff, which aired from April to June 2015. An OVA was released on December 7, 2016. A second anime season and an original anime film adaptation were announced in February 2018. The anime's third season premiered on October 2, 2020, after a delay from July to "October or later" due to the effects of COVID-19.

Is It Wrong to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Season 4 Release and More

According to reports, the upcoming season 4 of DanMachi will cover the "The New Chapter Labyrinth Arc." The news previously was reported in January this year. The official account for the "Is It Wrong to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?" series has announced a summer 2022 release date, meaning that the new season will premiere sometime in July.

The voice cast and main staff from previous seasons are reprising their roles in the fourth season. Hideki Tachibana is directing the series while original light novelist Fujino Omori and Hideki Shirane write the screenplay. Shigeki Kimoto is the main character designer, Jin Aketagawa is the sound director, and Keiji Inai is the music composer. J.C. Staff is in charge of the animation production.

Fans looking to watch the first three seasons can check them out on Crunchyroll and Hulu. In addition, the series is also available to stream on HIDIVE. However, audiences with a Crunchyroll subscription should move fast since the platform will remove the series from its catalog by March 31, 2022.

The official description for DanMachi on MyAnimeList reads:

"Life in the bustling city of Orario is never dull, especially for Bell Cranel, a naïve young man who hopes to become the greatest adventurer in the land. After a chance encounter with the lonely goddess, Hestia, his dreams become a little closer to reality. With her support, Bell embarks on a fantastic quest as he ventures deep within the city's monster-filled catacombs, known only as the "Dungeon." Death lurks around every corner in the cavernous depths of this terrifying labyrinth, and a mysterious power moves amidst the shadows.

Even on the surface, survival is a hard-earned privilege. Indeed, nothing is ever certain in a world where gods and humans live and work together, especially when they often struggle to get along. One thing is for sure, though: a myriad of blunders, triumphs and friendships awaits the dauntlessly optimistic protagonist of this herculean tale."
