Yes, 'Premier Access' offered by Disney Plus is a one-time fee. You can think of it as a digital ticket to watching a movie that's still in theaters – for the price of $29.99. We're sure you have other questions about 'Premier Access,' so let's dispel any doubts you might be having. Here's all you need to know about Disney Plus’ premium-priced access to streaming movies.
As you already know, Disney Plus is a subscription-based service. At the moment (after the most recent price hike), you'll need to pay $7.99 per month or $79.99 per year. That price gets you unlimited access to all of the titles available on Disney Plus – except from 'Premier Access' movies (that are occasionally available).Â
Endless entertainment from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic. Always ad free. Download and Go. Stream Anywhere, Anytime. Exclusive Originals. Sign Up Now. Classic Favorites.
In the past, Disney Plus offered two movies via 'Premier Access,' and the next one will be Marvel Studios' Black Widow (available starting July 9th, 2021). Just like it happened in the past, you will need to pay extra to watch Black Widow, which comes as a one-time fee of $29.99.Â
Saying that 'Premier Access' is your digital ticket to watching a movie that’s still in theaters is true only up to a point. That’s because 'Premier Access' unlocks the purchased title(s) permanently, which means you can watch them as many times as you want.
In other words, there are no restrictions imposed after you acquire 'Premier Access' for any specific title. That film will remain in your library, accessible at all times. That also means your entire family can access the purchased title(s). Remember that Disney Plus lets you create up to seven profiles. And also, you get up to four simultaneous streams.
With that said, we believe that 'Premier Access' is well worth its price – especially if you're not the sole user of your Disney Plus subscription. That way, a per-person cost will be much lower than what you'd pay for a movie theater ticket.Â
Yes – 'Premier Access' movies have been typically available for purchase for three months. It means that during those three months, you’ve had your chance of buying 'Premier Access' for movies such as 'Mulan' and 'Raya and the Last Dragon' (still available to purchase).
We also have to note that we expect the same to happen with Marvel’s Black Widow. That movie will come out in July 2021 – and therefore, we expect it to leave 'Premier Access' and become available for all Disney+ subscribers in October 2021.
And finally, let's give you a quick guide to activating 'Premier Access' on Disney Plus. This is a straightforward procedure, so go through the following steps.Â
