Invincible season 3 has wrapped up with a finale packed with high-stakes battles, emotional payoffs, and major teases for the future. Episode eight, titled "I Thought You’d Never Shut Up," may not surpass the show’s best moments, but it cements itself as one of the strongest episodes of the season. From Mark Grayson’s brutal showdown with Conquest to shocking revelations about Atom Eve, the finale sets the stage for an explosive season four.

Mark vs. Conquest: A Battle of Unmatched Brutality

After the multiversal Mark Graysons were dealt with in episode seven, season three’s finale wasted no time introducing an even greater threat—Conquest. Voiced by The Walking Dead’s Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Conquest is a seasoned Viltrumite warrior sent to conquer Earth, but what sets him apart is his sheer enjoyment of battle. Unlike Omni-Man, who carried a conflicted sense of duty, Conquest takes sadistic pleasure in destruction.

As he fights Mark, Conquest taunts him, pushing him to his limits. "You fight like a child," he sneers. Mark, despite his growth, struggles against the experienced warrior, but it’s Conquest’s chilling confession that adds depth to his character. "The others fear me," he admits. "And when I die, no one will care." This vulnerability doesn’t redeem him, but it makes him all the more terrifying.

Steven Yeun delivers another standout performance as Mark, capturing his raw rage and desperation. Meanwhile, Morgan’s voice acting perfectly conveys Conquest’s ruthless delight in combat, making him an unforgettable addition to Invincible’s villain roster.

Atom Eve’s Resurrection: How she Defied Death

Midway through the fight, Atom Eve suffers devastating injuries, seemingly meeting her end. With half her face torn apart and her insides exposed, her survival seems impossible. But just as Conquest is about to finish Mark, Eve returns—fully healed and radiating power.

Her miraculous recovery is explained later: the scientists who gave her powers also placed mental blocks that prevented her from manipulating sentient matter. However, in moments of extreme stress, she can override these restrictions. This newfound ability not only saves her but allows her to unleash a devastating attack on Conquest, burning his skin off with a powerful energy blast.

Cecil’s Secret plan for Conquest

Although Conquest appears to die in battle, the finale’s closing montage reveals the truth—Cecil lied. Instead of letting Mark finish him off, the GDA imprisoned Conquest in a tungsten-steel chamber deep underground, rigged to explode at the first sign of escape. Why? Cecil wants information on the Viltrum Empire’s invasion plans, proving once again that he’s always several steps ahead.

Battle Beast, Sequids, and Angstrom Levy: What’s next?

The montage also hints at several future threats. Battle Beast, presumed lost in space, is alive and now in the custody of the Coalition of Planets. Meanwhile, the Sequid invasion—first teased in season two—seems imminent, with astronaut Rus Livingston amassing an army in the sewers.

Angstrom Levy, left disfigured after his battle with Mark, has also returned with a new robotic arm, thanks to a group of mysterious scientists. His survival means his vendetta against Mark is far from over.

Mid-Credits Scene: Damien Darkblood’s Sinister plan

For the first time since season one, demon detective Damien Darkblood resurfaces. Still trapped in Hell, he makes a deal with a demonic lord, offering to summon a being with a "blackened heart" in exchange for power. Could he be referring to Omni-Man? Or is there an even greater evil at play?

What Invincible Season 4 Will Explore?

With Conquest defeated (but alive), Atom Eve’s newfound abilities, and the looming Viltrumite war, Invincible season four is shaping up to be even more intense. Mark has already promised, "If you threaten my family, I will kill you." But with threats multiplying—from the Viltrumites to the Sequids—his greatest battles are yet to come.

Production on season four is already underway, with Robert Kirkman confirming efforts to ensure a smoother release schedule. With so many plotlines left open, Invincible fans have plenty to look forward to.
