Two new Instagram features were announced the other day by Instagram chief Adam Mosseri, both fun and useful for users. These are Carousel Deletion, which lets users delete one or more photos from a carousel instead of deleting the whole ensemble, and Rage Shake, which prompts a report message when users shake their phone. These new Instagram features are available in the US for now.

To delete individual photos from a carousel, open it in the app and use the three dots menu found at the top right of the screen, then tap edit, go to the photo you want to remove, and tap the delete icon you will see in the top left. This way, the specific image will be removed and you can then save the post. Carousel Deletion is available on iOS at the moment, and it will soon roll out to Android.

This is a great thing especially for brands that want to manage their social media content better. However, carousels are the most popular type of post format in the app, so everyone is excited.

The Rage Shake feature capitalizes the shaking motion frustrated users do when the app steps on their nerves by opening a pop-up screen that reads "Did something go wrong?" with a field underneath to report the issue. This feature is available both on iOS and Android.

The social media platform owned by Facebook introduced a few more new features lately, such as a tool called "Account Status," and outages alerts to let users know when technical issues affect the app. Moreover, it ditched the famous IGTV format and replaced it with a general "Instagram Video" format (except the Reels).
