Since the first season ended in quite a shocking way, everyone is eager to find out what happened to the freaky flying alien snake-like creature that Mother gave birth to and how the unexpected pregnancy affected her programming when it comes to her weaponized part. As we can see from the movie poster, we were right to believe it's some kind of biblical reference to the serpent in the tree as a symbol of evil.

The last scene saw their ship pass through the planet's core and end up on the other side of it. Now, the trailer shows the colony settling on the other side, where the climate is not as harsh as it was where they first landed, and Fimmel's previously-atheist character becoming one of the fanatics and stating he wants to convert all the others, one at a time.
