Another story from the Star Wars universe will soon unfold as a stunning and exciting spin-off focusing on Obi-Wan Kenobi this time. If you're as excited as we are, know that we have all the information you may need regarding the release date, plot, and cast and that it will be extremely easy to watch the new series online. This being said, let's see when, where, and how to watch the Obi-Wan Kenobi series online from anywhere in the world.
The story begins 10 years after the dramatic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith where Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat that we all remember from the iconic scene - the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side as the evil Sith Lord Darth Vader. The plot will follow Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi as he watches over young Luke Skywalker and evades the Empire's elite Jedi hunters during his exile on the desert planet Tatooine. Hiding on Tatooine, Kenobi lives a solitary life in exile. Darth Vader has set up the Sith Inquisitors program, a group of Dark Side Force users, to hunt down any surviving Jedi after Order 66. Kenobi later leaves Tatooine to embark on a "rollicking adventure".
The series stars Ewan McGregor, reprising his role as the iconic Jedi Master, and also marks the return of Hayden Christensen in the role of Darth Vader. Joining the cast are Moses Ingram as Inquisitor Reva Sevander, Joel Edgerton as Owen Lars, Rupert Friend as Grand Inquisitor, Bonnie Piesse as Beru Lars, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, O'Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie. Obi-Wan Kenobi is directed by Deborah Chow and executive-produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, Deborah Chow, Ewan McGregor, and Joby Harold.
Rated TV-14, the Obi-Wan Kenobi series is set to premiere on Friday, May 27, 2022, and you will be able to watch it exclusively on the Disney Plus streaming platform. The series will run for six episodes until June 22, and the first two episodes will land on the premiere day while the rest will become available on a one-per-week schedule. As it usually happens with new content on streaming platforms, this title will become available sometime after midnight PT (03:01 am ET). This is just one of the many Disney Plus originals set to premiere this year.
This new and exciting Star Wars title is a Disney original series, so we will be able to watch Obi-Wan Kenobi on Disney's streaming platform. All you have to do is subscribe to the Disney Plus service for a moderate monthly fee, and you will be able to do that in the countries where the streaming platform launched, including the US, the UK, Canada, and Australia.
The prices adapt to local currencies, and in the US, Canada, the UK and Ireland, and Australia are as follows: US $7.99 per month (or the US $79.99 per year) / £7.99 per month (or £79.90 per year) / CA $11.99 per month (or CA $119.99 per year) / AU $11.99 per month (or AU $119.99 per year). The subscription price offers access to the entire library, which hosts several other Star Wars titles, and also various titles from Disney, Marvel, Pixar, and The Simpsons, among others, besides National Geographic titles.
Endless entertainment from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic. Always ad free. Download and Go. Stream Anywhere, Anytime. Exclusive Originals. Sign Up Now. Classic Favorites.
If you live in the US, you have another great option besides subscribing to Disney Plus as a standalone service since American customers can get the Disney Plus, ESPN Plus, and Hulu bundle and save 25% compared to the monthly cost of subscribing to all three services separately. If this bundle seems like a choice that better suits your needs, know that you can choose between Hulu with commercials for $13.99 per month or Hulu (No Ads) for $19.99 per month.
The Disney Bundle includes Disney+, ESPN+ and Hulu’s ad-supported plan. Save 25% when you bundle all three.
The Disney Plus platform is compatible with mobile devices and tablets, both iOS and Android, Smart TVs, gaming consoles, and more - and you can check the full list here. Also, Disney Plus is expanding to other countries and the subscription fees were already announced, so fans will be able to watch it in more territories starting this summer.
However, keep in mind that you may not be able to access some titles or the entire Disney Plus streaming service while traveling due to the geo-restrictions they have in place since the platform is not available everywhere in the world.
There are a few other ways to watch the Obi-Wan Kenobi series on Disney Plus for free, even though there is no free trial available on Disney's streaming platform right now.
You can take advantage of a very extensive free trial if you're a Verizon subscriber with select Unlimited plans (or if you upgrade to Unlimited), as the telco offers six months of free Disney Plus for eligible new and existing customers. You will be charged the standard price for a standalone Disney Plus subscription on the streaming platform after the free trial ends, which is $7.99 per month. However, Verizon also offers The Disney Bundle for Unlimited subscribers, but this one does not have a free trial, so be careful what you choose.
There are also on-and-off promotions that include the service for free with Amazon Music Unlimited or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, so you should check those services if the deals become available again.
