A new Disney original teen romantic drama movie is set to premiere soon, and the best thing is that you will also be able to stream it online quite easily. We have all the information you may need, including the release date, cast, and plot, so let's see when, where, and how to watch Hollywood Stargirl online from anywhere in the world.
The cast includes Grace VanderWaal as Susan "Stargirl" Caraway, Elijah Richardson as Evan, Uma Thurman as Roxanne Martel, Judy Greer as Ana Caraway, Judd Hirsch as Mr. Mitchell, Tyrel Jackson Williams as Terrell, Al Madrigal as Iggy, Sarayu Blue as Alex, Chris Williams as George (Evan and Terrell's father), and Nija Okoro as Daphne (Evan and Terrell's mother).
The story follows Susan "Stargirl" Caraway as she journeys out of Mica into a bigger world of music, dreams, and possibility. Disney's Hollywood Stargirl is a sequel to the 2020 Disney Plus film about free spirit Stargirl Caraway, a silver-voiced teenager whose simple acts of kindness work magic in the lives of others. The 2022 movie follows Stargirl’s journey out of Mica, Arizona, and into a bigger world of music, dreams, and possibilities. Her mother Ana is hired as the costume designer for a movie, so they relocate to Los Angeles. There, Stargirl becomes involved with an eclectic group of characters, such as Mr. Mitchell (one of Stargirl’s neighbors), Roxanne Martel (a musician Stargirl admires and encounters on her journey), and aspiring filmmaking brothers Evan and Terrell.
Returning as Stargirl, VanderWaal performs the original song Figure It Out, which she wrote for the film, and Julia Hart returns to direct. Hart & Jordan Horowitz wrote the original script, based on the original character from Jerry Spinelli’s best-selling book Stargirl. Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, p.g.a., Lee Stollman, p.g.a. and Jordan Horowitz, p.g.a. are the producers, with Kristin Hahn, Nathan Kelly, and Jerry Spinelli serving as executive producers.
The film premiered on May 23, 2022, at the El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles, California, and is set to be released online as well - it will become available on Disney Plus on Friday, June 3, 2022. New content usually lands on various streaming services after 00:01 am PT (03:01 am ET).
This Stargirl sequel movie is a Disney original title, so we will be able to find Hollywood Stargirl in the Disney Plus on-demand library. All you have to do is subscribe to the Disney Plus service, and you will be able to do that in the countries where the streaming platform launched, including the US, the UK, Canada, and Australia, for a moderate monthly fee compared to other streaming platforms.
The subscription price offers access to the entire library, which hosts several other Star Wars titles, and also various titles from Disney, Marvel, Pixar, and The Simpsons, among others, besides National Geographic titles. You have another great option besides subscribing to Disney Plus as a standalone service if you live in the United States. American customers can get the Disney Plus, ESPN Plus, and Hulu bundle and save 25% compared to the monthly cost of subscribing to all three services separately. If this offer sounds better than subscribing to Disney Plus alone, know that you can choose between Hulu with commercials for $13.99 per month or Hulu (No Ads) for $19.99 per month.
The Disney Bundle includes Disney+, ESPN+ and Hulu’s ad-supported plan. Save 25% when you bundle all three.
The Disney Plus service is compatible with mobile devices and tablets, both iOS and Android, Smart TVs, gaming consoles, and more - and you can check the full list here. Also, Disney Plus is expanding to other countries, and the subscription fees were already announced, so fans will be able to watch it in more territories starting this month.
We should mention that you may lose access to some titles or even the entire Disney Plus streaming platform while traveling. This happens due to the geo-restrictions they have in place since the platform is not available everywhere in the world.
There are a few other ways to watch the Hollywood Stargirl movie on Disney Plus for free, even though there is no free trial available on Disney's streaming platform right now.
