A comeback 30 years in the making, Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers catches up with the former Disney Afternoon television stars in modern-day Los Angeles, bringing a hybrid live-action/CG animated action-comedy to the small screens. We have all the information you may need, including the release date, plot, and cast, so let's see when and how to watch Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers online on Disney Plus.

In “Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers,” Chip and Dale are living amongst cartoons and humans in modern-day Los Angeles, but their lives are quite different now. It has been decades since their successful television series was canceled, and Chip (voice of Mulaney) has succumbed to a life of suburban domesticity as an insurance salesman. Dale (voice of Sandberg), meanwhile, has had CGI surgery and works the nostalgia convention circuit, desperate to relive his glory days. When a former castmate mysteriously disappears, Chip and Dale must repair their broken friendship and take on their Rescue Rangers detective personas once again to save their friend’s life.

Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers stars John Mulaney (“Saturday Night Live”) as Chip, Andy Samberg (“Palm Springs”) as Dale, and KiKi Layne (“If Beale Street Could Talk”) as Ellie Whitfield. Also joining the cast are Will Arnett (“Arrested Development”) as Mean Dean, Eric Bana (“Dirty John”) as Monterey Jack, Seth Rogen (“Pam and Tommy”) as Bob, J.K. Simmons (“Being the Ricardos”) as Captain Putty, Chris Parnell (“Saturday Night Live”) as Jerry, Tress MacNeille (“The Simpsons”) as Gadget Hackwrench, Dennis Haysbert (“24”), Keegan-Michael Key (“Schmigadoon!”) as Bjornson the Cheesemonger, Flula Borg (“Pitch Perfect 2”), and Tim Robinson (“I Think You Should Leave”). The film is directed by Akiva Schaffer (“Saturday Night Live”), written by Dan Gregor and Doug Mand (“Crazy Ex-Girlfriend”), and is produced by Todd Lieberman (“Wonder”) and David Hoberman (“Beauty and the Beast”), with Alexander Young (“Extinction”) and Tom Peitzman serving as executive producers.

Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers premieres on Friday, May 20, 2022, and will be available exclusively on the Disney Plus streaming service. As it usually happens with new content on streaming platforms, this title will become available sometime after midnight PT (03:01 am ET). This is only one of the many new original Disney titles landing this year on the streaming platform.

How to Watch Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers Online on Disney Plus

Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers is a Disney Plus Original movie, and this means it will be available on this streaming platform exclusively. All you have to do is subscribe to the Disney Plus service for a moderate monthly fee, and you will be able to do that in the countries where the streaming platform launched, including the US, the UK, Canada, and Australia. The subscription price offers access to the entire library, which hosts various titles from Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, and The Simpsons, among others, besides National Geographic titles.

The prices adapt to local currencies, and in the US, Canada, the UK and Ireland, and Australia are as follows: US $7.99 per month (or the US $79.99 per year) / £7.99 per month (or £79.90 per year) / CA $11.99 per month (or CA $119.99 per year) / AU $11.99 per month (or AU $119.99 per year).

If you live in the United States, you have another great option besides subscribing to Disney Plus as a standalone service since American customers can get the Disney Plus, ESPN Plus, and Hulu bundle. If The Disney Bundle is the one that's better suited for your needs, know that you can choose between Hulu with commercials for $13.99 per month or Hulu (No Ads) for $19.99 per month. This means you save 25% compared to the monthly cost of subscribing to all three services separately.

The Disney Plus platform is compatible with mobile devices and tablets, both iOS and Android, Smart TVs, gaming consoles, and more - and you can check the full list here. Also, Disney Plus is expanding to other countries and has already announced price tiers, so fans will be able to watch it in more territories starting this summer.

However, keep in mind that you may not be able to access some titles or the entire platform while traveling due to geo-restrictions they have in place since the Disney Plus streaming service is not available everywhere.

Can I Watch Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers for Free?

There are a few ways to watch Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers on Disney Plus for free, even though Disney's streaming platform does not offer a free trial on its own right now.

You can take advantage of a very extensive free trial if you're a Verizon subscriber with select Unlimited plans (or if you upgrade to Unlimited), as the telecom provider offers six months of free Disney Plus for eligible new and existing customers. You will be charged the standard price for a standalone Disney Plus subscription on the streaming platform after the free trial ends, which is $7.99 per month. However, we should mention that you should be careful what you choose since Verizon also offers The Disney Bundle for Unlimited subscribers, but this one does not have a free trial.

There are also on-and-off promotions that include the Disney Plus service for free with Amazon Music Unlimited or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. We recommend you check those services to see if the deals become available again when you decide to become a customer.
