Naruto: How Did Naruto Get His Arm Back? What Happened to Sasuke's Arm?
Published on February 5, 2022
The springtime of youth is finally here, and so, naturally, it's time to talk about our favorite sensei from the Naruto series, Might Guy! Fans who watched the series will remember the epic battle between Madara Uchiha and Guy sensei, where the latter dominated most of the fight. The fight was easily Guy sensei's best feat to date, seeing as Madara was not only at his peak but also the jinchuriki of the ten tails at the time.
Madara, who had acquired almost god-like powers at the time, could only be defeated by Taijutsu and Senjutsu (Sage Jutsu). Guy sensei used his secret Eight Inner Gates taijutsu technique against Madara, a technique that erases the natural limiters in your body which exist to limit the flow of chakra. Opening the eight gates pushes the user's body to use more than 20% of its full potential, the eighth gate giving access to 100%.
While the Eight Inner Gates technique gives the user immeasurable strength, it comes with a price. The increased power from opening the gates causes the user serious harm. At a minimum, the user will be tired at the first or second gate. However, opening more gates can cause the muscles to tear and bones to break from the strain. In addition, opening the eighth gate leads to death.
Madara's overwhelming strength after absorbing the ten tails forces Guy sensei to open the eighth gate, which Kakashi and Minato were against. However, Guy decides that the fight is worth giving his life for to save his comrades and his precious student Rock Lee. While Guy almost killed Jubidara (Ten Tails Madara), the latter survived the fight making Guy's sacrifice pointless. But leave Konoha's number one unpredictable ninja to challenge fate and save the beloved Guy sensei!
However, fans have wondered how Naruto could change the outcome of the opening of the Eight Gates. Let's take a look.
The fight between Might Guy and Jubidara occurred after Madara incapacitated both Naruto and Sasuke by extracting the nine-tails fox from the former and impaling the latter with his sword. All hope seemed lost since the reanimated Fourth Hokage Minato Namikaze had lost both his arms and was incapable of performing hand signs. At the same time, Kakashi was simply no match for Jubidara since he absorbed all ninjutsu.
Even Obito Uchiha tried to fight Jubidara for a bit after turning against him. However, since his primary focus was saving Naruto's life, the Blue Beast of Konoha finally took the reigns! Guy sensei opened all eight inner gates, giving him immeasurable power. The Blue Beast dominated most of the fight, almost killing Madara while still in jinchuriki form. The fight excited Madara so much that he proclaimed Guy as the strongest taijutsu user in the world. However, even the eight gates have their limits for fighting god-level powers.
After Guy could not finish off Madara, his fate was seemingly sealed as his body was shown slowly turning into ash. However, Naruto Uzumaki's Six Paths Yang Power saved Guy from certain death. Naruto was given chakra from the Rikudou Sennin AKA Sage of Six Paths himself since the former was a reincarnation of his son Asura. It seems that receiving powers from a literal god gave Naruto the ability to stop the outcome of the Inner Gates.
Fans will also remember that after Madara stole Kakashi's Sharingan, Naruto also restored his eye, which he lost decades before the war. While Naruto was able to save Guy from death, the damage to his body was extensive. Guy suffered great injuries upon using the "Night Guy" technique, which left him in a wheelchair for the rest of his life. However, don't lose heart because, despite the handicap, the sequel novels Kakashi Hiden, Konoha Shinden, and the Boruto anime all show Guy continuing his life as a ninja as best as he can.
