For years, the Heart Eyes Killer has terrorized Valentine's Day, targeting romantic couples in a deadly game. This year, no one is safe.
Set in Seattle, Heart Eyes follows two coworkers, who find themselves working late on Valentine's Day. Their quiet night takes a horrifying turn when they become the next targets of the masked killer, who mistakenly believes they are a couple. As love and terror collide, they must navigate a deadly chase through a city celebrating romance.
“My love of horror is rivaled only by my love of romantic comedies. I’m excited as hell to mount my most challenging genre-bender to date: a brutal slasher in a nostalgic rom-com universe,” director Josh Ruben shared in a statement. (via Variety)
With the city drenched in red for Valentine’s Day, the two must outrun a relentless murderer who turns the holiday of love into a night of pure terror.
The trailer for Heart Eyes introduces viewers to a chilling Valentine's Day in Seattle, where an elusive serial killer, dubbed the "Heart Eyes Killer," preys on romantic couples. The opening scene showcases a bustling city adorned with Valentine's decorations, setting a stark contrast to the impending horror.
We meet co-workers Ally and Ben, who are reluctantly working late on Valentine's Day. A news broadcast in the background warns, "For the past several years, the 'Heart Eyes Killer' has wreaked havoc on Valentine's Day by stalking and murdering romantic couples." Unbeknownst to them, their night is about to take a terrifying turn.
As they leave their office building, Ally remarks, "Of all nights to be stuck at work..." Ben responds with a smirk, "At least we don't have to deal with all that lovey-dovey stuff out there." Their banter is interrupted by a sudden power outage, plunging the street into darkness.
The tension escalates when they encounter a masked figure with glowing heart-shaped eyes. The killer whispers menacingly, "Stay single, stay safe." Mistaking them for a couple, the killer begins his pursuit.
Throughout the trailer, rapid sequences depict Ally and Ben navigating through deserted streets, hiding in alleyways, and narrowly escaping the killer's grasp. In one scene, Ally gasps, "Why is he after us?" Ben replies, "He thinks we're together. We need to split up!"
The trailer culminates with a chilling montage of the killer's previous victims, accompanied by his haunting voiceover: "Love is a game... and tonight, everyone loses."
