Got to Get Out released all of its season 1 episodes on Friday, April 11, and we now finally know who are the winners of the prize money accumulated by the end of the season. The competition show featured 9 reality tv stars and 11 rookies who were all vying for the coveted $1 million.

The rules of this show were simple- all the contestants stayed in a mansion for 10 days. For every second, one dollar got added to the pot. The show gave hints about the time when certain windows and doors would unlock, and if the players were able to read it correctly, they could escape with whatever prize money was accumulated till then.

But there was a catch- if someone spotted the player escaping, they could hit a button that would close the doors of the mansion and prevent them from going out. If they were able to escape, the money would begin accumulating afresh. In the show, multiple players tried to escape but only two succeeded. In this article, we will discuss what happened.

Who are the Winners of Got to Get Out Season 1?

Ultimately, out of the 20 contestants who began the competition, only 16 were left by the end. They were- Demi, Val, Susan, Omarosa Manigault, Yahné Coleman, Steve, Rashad, Doodles, Athena V., Spencer, Lindsey, Shane, Steven, Kim, Rob, and Athena Suich. They split $687,940 and earned $42,996 each

Two contestants- Clare Crawley and Jill Ashlock, decided to leave in Episode 6 because they couldn't bear to be away from their families.

Which Players were able to Escape Through the Windows of the Mansion?

It wasn’t easy to get the clues about when the windows would open. What was even harder was trying to escape through the gates when the way down to them was long, and anyone could be spotted anytime. So, if anyone in the house hit the button, it would be game over for the runner.

Yet, this didn’t stop people from trying to escape. While many failed, two people succeeded in episode 5. Cynthia Bailey got a clue that told her when one window would open. However, she understood that she wouldn’t be able to escape with the money alone.

So, she recruited Stein Retzlaff for help. Cynthia wasn’t the runner, instead, she was the watcher. She earned other players’ trust and positioned herself near the button. She was ready to pounce on it and push anyone out if they got too close. This allowed Stein the time needed to run and escape through the gates with the prize money of $312,060.

He then decided to split the money with Cynthia, and they took home $156,030 each. They also didn’t have to spend the entire time at the mansion. By the final episode, many more contestants like Val Chmerkovskiy, Steven Giannopoulos, Rob Roman, Lindsey Coffey, Shane Dougherty, Nick “Doodles” Metzler, and Athena Vas were given the opportunity to escape. But they all failed.
