With the recent Google Plus data leak bringing up a lot of controversies around the company, Google is taking security very seriously at the moment to prevent another security incident. Google announced today that the G Suite Security Center would become available to all corporate account administrators to monitor threats and directly take action.
Google revealed that “the alert center provides will help all G Suite admins manage alerts more efficiently, and provide insights that help them assess their organization's exposure to security issues at the domain and user levels.”
With G Suite being a database to millions of users, Google is allowing the platform’s corporate customers access to the Security Center which allows customers to monitor security breaches. An Alert Center is built into the Security Suite which notifies users whenever any threats are identified by the system.
With centralized warnings about any security breaches, it will allow G Suite administrators of Google’s corporate clients to deal with threats directly and efficiently. According to Google, the G Suite’s Security Suite is capable of identifying any large-scale threats like phishing attacks, suspicious activity, malware or even government-backed attacks.
The G Suite portal is responsible for storing details of corporate devices, and if a tablet or phone that is part of an organization’s verified devices is rooted or jailbroken, the respective admin(s) are immediately notified. The update is not yet available and will be rolling out to users in the coming weeks. It may take up to 15 days for all features to be available once activated according to Google. The update will be visible to admins only, and other members of a G Suite account will not be able to access any private data.
