Google Discontinues Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G to Make Way for the New Models
Published on August 21, 2021
Google announced its fall event called "Pixel Fall Launch," which will happen Tuesday, October 19, at 10 am PT, and will officially introduce the new Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro smartphones. This is a pre-recorded live stream, and everyone can attend the virtual event. So save the date and tune in on the Google event's official page.
The event announcement on the official website reads:
What we already know about the new Pixel 6 line is that the devices feature a custom-built Arm chip named Tensor, an innovative mobile processor that focuses on AI and machine learning, computational photography, advanced speech recognition for the Assistant, and generally a set of elements that are at the epicenter of the Pixel experience.
Also, the Pixel 6 Pro will feature more premium materials, a larger screen, a higher refresh display, more RAM, a larger battery, and an additional telephoto lens on the camera array. So there's a lot to be excited about.
The Pixel 6 line and Pixel 5a are Google's powerhouses when it comes to mobile technology since the company announced in August that it would retract Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G from the market to avoid cannibalizing the Pixel 5a 5G. This is also due to the chip shortages, as all three models are using the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 processor.
