CBS' Fire Country delivered an explosive two-part season three finale with “A Change in the Wind” and “I’d Do It Again,” leaving Station 42 — and fans — reeling from heartbreaking moments, life-threatening danger, and major cast shakeups.

Heading into the Fire Country season 3 finale, one big question hung in the air: Would Jake (Jordan Calloway) leave Station 42 for a captain's job in Butte, especially with Bode (Max Thieriot) in line to take over once Vince (Billy Burke) retires? As fires rage across Edgewater, tragedy looms larger than anyone could expect.

Part 1- "A Change in the Wind"

Manny (Kevin Alejandro), newly removed from Three Rock, spots Gabriela’s (Stephanie Arcila) stalker, Finn (Blake Lee), lurking outside Station 42. After Finn sets a gas station ablaze, Bode injures his knee while helping extinguish the fire, putting him on the sidelines.

Meanwhile, Station 42 hosts Jake's farewell breakfast, but Vince struggles to find a replacement. Sharon (Diane Farr) suggests Manny for the role. Back at the Leone home, Finn breaks in, attacks Audrey (Leven Rambin) with a taser, and tries to kidnap Gabriela. A struggle ensues, and Finn is shot, seemingly by Gabriela. Later, it's revealed that Audrey pulled the trigger to protect her.

Elsewhere, Eve (Jules Latimer) and Francine (Katie Findlay) contemplate starting a family, but their plans are interrupted when a wildfire threatens Three Rock Camp.

Part 2- "I’d Do It Again"

As the fires grow in the Fire Country season 3 finale, Manny urges Gabriela and Audrey to save Finn and cover up Gabriela's involvement. Audrey ultimately confesses the truth. They try to get Finn to a hospital but are rerouted to a nearby care facility.

At the same time, Station 42 and Three Rock scramble to fight the fires. Despite his injury, Bode disobeys orders and helps with the care facility evacuation, assisting Walter Leone (Jeff Fahey) in rescuing a resident. However, Bode’s injured knee slows him down, trapping him inside.

Vince, Sharon, and Walter rush in after him — just before the building collapses. Bode, desperate to save them, is held back by Jake as the roof caves in, falling to his knees in despair. The question now: Did Fire Country just kill off one of the Leones?

Major Exits Confirmed: Stephanie Arcila and Billy Burke

According to Deadline, two major departures are confirmed: Stephanie Arcila (Gabriela Perez) and Billy Burke (Vince Leone) are leaving Fire Country after three seasons.

While Arcila’s Gabriela could return as a guest star to continue the "epic love story" between her and Bode, Burke’s fate remains tightly under wraps. The showrunners declined to confirm whether it’s Vince, Sharon, Walter, or Jake who will ultimately not survive.

In interviews, executive producer/showrunner Tia Napolitano explained that Season three leaned into the reality of danger in firefighter life. After maintaining the same core cast for three seasons, it was time for Fire Country to raise the stakes with real, devastating losses — and massive consequences for Bode, who was physically restrained from saving his family by Jake in the finale’s most harrowing moment.

What’s next for Fire Country?

The writers’ room for season four will open soon, and while a time jump is possible, the showrunners promised that fans' cliffhanger questions will be fully addressed. Whether it's the future of Three Rock, the fate of Vince, Sharon, and Walter, or Bode’s emotional fallout, big shifts are on the horizon — and new cast additions might even be in the cards. One thing's for sure: Fire Country's fourth season is shaping up to be its most emotional and game-changing yet.

All the episodes of Fire Country season three are now streaming on CBS & Paramount+.
