WhatsApp is making a biggest change this year. Now, its time for a new revolution in the WhatsApp. According to report, Whatsapp co-founder JAN KOUM rolled out a Snapchat-story like status messaging feature. They were excited to announce that, coinciding with whatsapp 8th birthday on February 24. They have an idea to reinventing the status feature.
New status feature will allow the users to share GIF, video and photos with their friends, similar to Snapchat, Facebook, and Twitter. Everything will be shared only with the whatsapp friends. But the new Whatsapp status feature will not last longer more than 24 hours.
This new feature has so far divided users. Many whatsapp users see it as an unneccessery complication. But the main reason behind the change is it to turn the chats into a social media app.
A Twitter account -Â Wabetainfo - that often leaks features from beta versions of the chat apps tweeted that in WhatsApp beta for iOS 2.17.6.21 and for Windows Phone 2.17.82 the Tagline feature has been added, although for now it is hidden. In the Android version too, the feature is expected to make a comeback, told India Today.

The purpose and working of Whatsapp is completely different compared to old features. This ability to tell your WhatsApp contacts what about your "status" is now gone, replaced by the new WhatsApp Status feature, which won't let you set a text message as a status and won't let you keep the "status" for more than 24 hours., definitely this feature will be helpful.
