Years after the events of The Fruit of Grisaia, Mihama Academy has evolved into a SORD (Special Organization for Research & Development) training facility, tasked with preparing young talent for national defense. 

Among its students are Rena and Maki, experts in firearms; Tohka and Gumi, skilled snipers; Chris, proficient in explosives and data processing; and Murasaki, a ninja specializing in intelligence. A new anime television series adaptation of Grisaia: Phantom Trigger has been announced, with Bibury Animation Studios, known for the game's film adaptations, returning as the production studio. 

Directed by Kousuke Murayama, the series features Akio Watanabe as the character designer and chief animation director. The music is composed by Hitoshi Fujima, Yūsuke Takeda, and Fuminori Matsumoto.

Frontwing and WOWMAX are producing the series, which will air on networks such as Tokyo MX, BS NTV, Sun TV, TVA, HTB, and SBS. Crunchyroll holds the licensing rights for streaming.
