What is the plot of Novocaine (2025) film?

In Novocaine, Nathan Caine, a mild-mannered bank executive, lives with a rare condition called congenital insensitivity to pain (CIP), which makes him unable to feel physical pain. When his girlfriend, Sherry, is kidnapped during a bank robbery, Nathan becomes an unlikely hero. 

His unique condition, earning him the nickname "Novocaine," allows him to endure extreme situations while he fights to rescue her. As he faces a group of armed robbers and a dangerous underworld, Nathan must use his inability to feel pain to navigate the perilous journey and save the woman he loves.

Filming for Novocaine started on April 8, 2024, in Cape Town, South Africa. The film is financed by Domain Entertainment.

Behind the Scenes

Dan Berk and Robert Olsen, co-directors of Novocaine, have collaborated on multiple projects, including Body, The Stakelander, Villains, and Significant Other. However, Novocaine marks their most ambitious project yet.

Written by Lars Jacobson, the film is a joint production between Safehouse Pictures, Circle Management + Production, and Infrared Pictures. Novocaine is also the first film under FilmNation Entertainment's Infrared label. In February 2024, Paramount Pictures acquired the film.
