What is the plot of the Beyond Paradise Christmas Special 2024?

In the festive special, DI Humphrey Goodman and his team investigate a haunting when widower Bob Holland begins seeing the ghost of his late wife, Linda. Bob’s emotional turmoil intensifies as Linda's ghost demands he leave his home. With the support of his friend Anne, Bob tries to understand if his visions are a result of grief or something more sinister.

Humphrey and DS Esther Williams take on the case, with Esther remaining skeptical while Humphrey embraces his first ghost investigation. Meanwhile, there’s a mystery brewing closer to home. Kelby and Margo are called in to solve a break-in at the local church, leaving the nativity scene incomplete just before Christmas services. Will Kelby crack the case in time to impress the Chief Superintendent?

Away from the station, Humphrey and Martha are fostering a teenager, Jaiden, who has trouble opening up. As the holidays approach, Martha struggles to connect with Jaiden, who is missing his little brother, while Humphrey remains busy with the investigation. Will Martha and Jaiden find a way to bond in time for Christmas?

The special promises both a festive ghost story and a heartfelt journey for the couple as they navigate their fostering challenges, all while the team unravels a spooky mystery. Could there be a surprise crossover with Return to Paradise? Fans will have to wait and see.
