Verizon Adds Hulu and ESPN+ to Disney+ as Freebies for Top Tier Subscribers
Last updated July 8, 2021
TechNadu’s team has come to learn that Disney’s ESPN+ media streaming service will get a price increase in just a few days. More precisely, the regular monthly subscription price for ESPN+ will be increased by $1.00, reaching $5.99 per month starting August 12.
It’s also interesting to note that the annual subscription won’t suffer any changes, remaining priced at $49.99. The same applies to Disney’s bundle of its media streaming services. Right now, you can get a bundle that includes Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu for $12.99, without any changes to the price in the foreseeable future.
The reasons for the price increase are unknown, as it seems to be coming at an awkward moment. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, numerous major sports league events have been either canceled for 2020 or (indefinitely) postponed. However, we’re now starting to see some sports events returning to our screens. In terms of ESPN+, this OTT platform has prepared a pleasant surprise for this weekend, as it’s home to the PGA Championship.
This is the first price increase for ESPN+ since its launch in 2018. Now priced at $5.99/month, this platform is still one of the best sports streaming services currently available. It has recently hit 8.5 million subscribers, contributing to Disney’s 100 million subscribers userbase across all of the company’s OTT platforms.

If you’ve been on the fence about subscribing to ESPN+, now’s the best time to act. If you subscribe before August 12 (so, yes, not much time is left), you’ll get to avoid this price increase. That’s because existing ESPN+ subscribers will get to continue using the OTT service for $4.99 per month for at least another year.
