After hiking up the monthly price by $1 last summer, ESPN+ has also announced its annual subscription will go up by $10. Starting with January 8th, the annual subscription will go from $49.99 to $59.99.
Last August, the monthly plan went up to $5.99 while the annual plan remained at the old price, making for quite a deal to pay for the full year upfront. Now that ESPN+ is increasing its annual subscription price, it falls more in line with the regular discount you get for all platforms when you pay for the whole year.
The annual price hike will also affect the price for the UFC pay-per-view events you get through ESPN+. Usually, the bundle for new subscribers would cost $84.98 for a year of ESPN+ and access to whatever UFC PPV event was up next. Starting with January 8th, the price will go up to $89.98. Also, if you're already an ESPN+ subscriber and want to get the PPV event, you now have to pay $69.99 instead of $64.99.
Existing subscribers can continue to renew their subscriptions with the old price until at least March 2nd, 2021. So, if you are fast enough, you'll enjoy an extra year of ESPN+ for $49.99.
The price hike falls in line with the rest of the increases we've seen in the Disney family. Hulu with Live TV went up by $10 per month back in mid-December, while Disney+ and the Disney bundle that includes Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ will cost an extra dollar more every month starting in March.
