The production of a second season of The Famous Five has been officially announced by the BBC in collaboration with Moonage Pictures and filmmaker Nicolas Winding Refn.
Refn said, "The excitement I feel for the return of The Famous Five fills my inner child with pure content. “It is an adventure to manifest the youthful fantasies of my imagination and watch these characters, essentially my lifelong friends, continue to blossom and evolve. This second season is sure to inspire and elicit unadulterated elation!"
Matthew Read of Moonage Pictures said, "Thanks to the hugely positive audience response and international success of the first three films, Moonage Pictures is delighted to be going on further adventures with The Famous Five. It’s been a real joy bringing these new stories to life with my good friend Nicolas Winding Refn and our wonderful cast and crew. We are so happy that Guy Andrews and Tom Bidwell have come on board to write these two new stories, encapsulating the thrill and excitement of the beloved books for a modern audience."
The Famous Five is a TV series based on Enid Blyton's best-selling novels about five young explorers (four children and their dog) who embark on daring adventures.

A release date has not been announced yet, but since filming is underway, maybe we can expect it by the end of the year. And as usual, we will be able to watch it on CBBC and BBC iPlayer in the UK.
The new season has two episodes of 90 minutes each — "Mystery at the Prospect Hotel," directed by Asim Abbasi, and "Big Trouble on Billycock Hill," directed by Tom Vaughn. The first episode investigates a historic hotel, while the second one features an adventure in the British countryside.
In the second installment, Julian is told to be a responsible older brother and keep his siblings in check. Meanwhile, George is determined to pursue the most exciting adventures despite Julian's advice.
