Now, part 2 will be available on the streaming giant on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2024 (with episodes 6-10).
In the trailer for part two, we see Emily in Rome, with a possible new love interest. Things don't go well with her and Gabriel due to Camille's cunning ways, and Emily finds herself doing something spontaneous, which is very unlike her. See the video below:
In the trailer, we see Emily tell Mindy that she saw a lot of hot young men on her morning run and that she's not with Gabriel or Alfie anymore and is newly single. To Emily's surprise, and ours, we see Gabriel stick his head out of the shower and ask, "You’re not with Alfie?"
We also get to know that Emily and Alfie's breakup has gone viral and Sylvie is not pleased with her. She says, "You broadcast your entire life for public consumption, and now it’s affecting my business." Check it out:
Emily struggles with her emotions after the shocking events of last season’s finale: Gabriel and Camille’s ill-fated wedding that ended badly. Emily has feelings for both Gabriel and Alfie, but one is expecting a baby with their ex, and another’s worst suspicions are now confirmed. At work, Sylvie is dealing with a difficult situation from her past for the sake of her marriage, and the Agence Grateau team is adjusting to changes in personnel. On the other hand, Mindy and her band are preparing for Eurovision but soon run into financial woes. As they work towards getting a Michelin star, it becomes very clear that Emily and Gabriel have a lot of chemistry together, but two major secrets threaten to ruin everything they’ve ever dreamed of.
Season 4’s guest-stars are:
Emily and Gabriel
In an interview, show creator Darren Star revealed some plot points about the fourth season. He said that even though Emily and Gabriel are technically single, they are not getting into a relationship anytime soon. "I don't know that Gabriel is in the best place to start a relationship with Emily. I am not sure that Emily wants a relationship with Gabriel under the circumstances," he said.
Emily and Alfie
Even though season three ended badly for Alfie, he is still around, which complicates things for everyone involved. "Season 4 is going to be more about navigating complicated relationships: personal relationships and work relationships, and how they come into conflict with each other. Emily is still going to be working with Alfie, Gabriel, and Camille. Those work relationships are really fraught with emotional conflicts," Star said. On the other hand, Collins, in an interview after the last season finale, said, "Emily has had to fight to win Alfie back once, so I don’t know if that’s going to happen again."
Mindy and Nicolas
Last season, there was a lot of uncertainty about Mindy and Nicolas' relationship, with Benoit also in the mix. Star said, "Nicolas is a very smart character, but I think he is also a tricky guy. I think he represents a little bit of the Mindy who used to be, who she is very comfortable with. Benoit is a bit more of her artistic soul, and I think there is a real struggle. She has both sides of her competing for her priority.”
After wrapping up filming in France, the production team headed to Rome, Italy, in spring 2024! Collins said, "While Emily’s heart will always remain true to Paris, her life takes some unexpected twists this season. Don't be surprised to find her on a Roman holiday." She shared photos with Ashley Park on Instagram, and the caption read: "When you're the first ones on the dance floor at the Paris wrap party. Next stop: Rome!…"
Darren Star (Beverly Hills, 90210, Sex and the City) is the creator, writer, and executive producer of the show. Other executive producers include Tony Hernandez, Lilly Burns, Andrew Fleming, Alison Brown, and Robin Schiff; Stephen Brown, Grant Sloss, and Joe Murphy are co-executive producers. Lily Collins produced the show alongside Ryan McCormick, Raphaël Benoliel, and Jake Fuller. Season four is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, Darren Star Productions, and Jax Media.
Costume designer Marylin Fitoussi said, "Emily is really coming into her own, asserting herself, becoming much stronger with a style that is reinterpreting Parisian fashion codes. And our motto was obviously to have fun, but to take maximum risks."
Nothing has been officially confirmed, but Star said, "I definitely think the show has a life beyond next season. It’s not necessarily conceived as a final chapter. I think like every other show, it’s a rich ensemble. There’s no end in sight until everybody feels like it’s time to end." We will keep you updated on news of Emily in Paris season 5 as and when it is announced.
