Ellen DeGeneres returns to the stage for the first time in six years with her new comedy special, Ellen Degeneres: For Your Approval. Marking her final comedy special, Ellen gets personal, sharing her experiences since being “kicked out of show business.” She humorously touches on everything from raising chickens to the challenges of becoming a brand name celebrity, revisiting her stand-up roots and tackling life’s absurdities.
This special is Ellen's second original project with Netflix, following 2018’s Relatable. In her characteristic style, she addresses her public persona and the contradictions of being labeled the "not-so-kind girl" despite preaching kindness. She remarks, “Had I ended my show by saying ‘Go f**k yourselves,’ people would have been pleasantly surprised to find out I am kind.”
The special promises to explore Ellen’s journey and the realities she has faced, while delivering laughs along the way.
After concluding The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2022 following 19 seasons, Ellen embarked on a tour titled Ellen’s Last Stand... Up, which was cut short due to cancellations. The special will encapsulate her reflections on a career filled with ups and downs, providing fans with a heartfelt and comedic farewell.
