From Ryan Murphy's brilliant mind and starring Joshua Jackson and Don Johnson comes the high-octane procedural Doctor Odyssey. Max (Jackson) is the new onboard doctor for a luxury cruise ship where the staff works hard and plays hard.
It’s all hands on deck as Max and his small but mighty medical team navigate unique medical crises and each other miles from shore. Combining the medical drama of Royal Pains with the charm of The Love Boat, Doctor Odyssey promises an exciting and dynamic addition to the lineup.
The series was shot in Los Angeles, California.
In a preview, Don Johnson’s character tells a dapper Max, “This ship is heaven,” but adds, “Doctor, it’s your job to keep everybody alive.” We also get a glimpse of the drama to come, with a drenched Max using paddles to save someone on a lifeboat.
The exact episode count for Doctor Odyssey hasn’t been announced yet. Currently, only the first two episodes are listed, and they might both premiere together. ABC may start with a six to eight-episode run and potentially extend it based on the show’s performance.
Joshua Jackson and Don Johnson are executive producers, alongside Ryan Murphy (known for American Horror Story, Glee, and Pose), who is also writing the series.
