Disney+ has officially gone live in Australia and New Zealand, preparing to shake things up in the streaming scene in these countries.
The Disney streaming platform has become available in both Australia and New Zealand on November 19th, a week after the official launch in the United States, Canada, and the Netherlands.
The $6.99 product in the United States will have a different price in Australia and New Zealand to account for currency parity. Therefore, in Australia, a month of Disney+ will cost 8.99 Australian Dollars, while in New Zealand it will cost 9.99 New Zealand Dollars. Paying for the full year for a small discount is also possible here.
Of course, the 7-day free trial is also part of the deal here, so you can sign up now, but you won't get charged until next week.
So far, Australian and New Zealand Disney+ subscribers seem to have gotten most of the content that US users have, at least when we look at the list of Disney+ originals. Even better, they have two episodes of series like The Mandalorian, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, and others, since the first was released along with the US launch of the platform and the second episode a few days later. Essentially, they're bringing them up to date so the content matches that in the US.
When it comes to other content, people have noticed some things missing, with the most notable one being the latest season of The Simpsons. While US viewers get 30 seasons, Australia and New Zealand only have seasons 1 through 29.
Disney+ is available on iOS and Android phones and tablets, Chromecast, Amazon Fire TV, PS4, Xbox One, Smart TVs, and more.
