Digimon Adventure's reboot anime series is finally getting an English dub! The makers confirmed the news at Sunday's Digimon Con live stream event. In 2020, the Digimon franchise released their eighth anime series, Digimon Adventure, rebooting the original 1999 anime television series of the same name. The series was released in celebration of the franchise's 20th anniversary.
Digimon Adventure's reboot series aired 67 episodes and ended its run in September 2021, with fans still awaiting the English dub release. The Japanese voice cast from the original series reprised their roles in the reboot, with dub fans hoping for the same. However, though the DigimonCon 2022 online event confirmed that Digimon Adventure would finally be releasing an English dubbed version, they also notified fans that a new English voice cast would be joining the franchise.
The presentation at the Digimon live stream event held on Sunday confirmed some of the cast members for the English dub episodes of Digimon Adventure. The series is slated to star Zeno Robinson, who plays Hawks in My Hero Academia and other prominent roles, as Taichi Kamiya. In addition, Ben Diskin, who has played Shoutmon in Digimon Fusion, Skeptic in My Hero Academia, Sai in Naruto: Shippuden, and more, will be the voice behind Agumon. The series has yet to reveal the names of the rest of the English cast members.
Furthermore, the release information for Digimon Adventure's new English dub is still under wraps. But don't worry, the upcoming English dub version has plenty of episodes to cover since the original Japanese version ended in 2021.
Fans looking to watch the series in the original Japanese dub with English subtitles can check it out on Crunchyroll, VRV, and Hulu.
Crunchyroll's official description for the Digimon Adventure reboot series reads:
"It's the year 2020. The Network has become something humans can no longer do without in their daily lives. But what humans don't know is that on the other side of the Network is the Digital World, a realm of light and darkness. Nor are they aware of the Digimon who live there.
