Dexter: Original Sin is the eagerly awaited prequel to the iconic TV series Dexter, delving into the origins of the beloved antihero. This new series is set to explore Dexter Morgan's early years and promises to shed light on Dexter’s formative experiences and the events that shaped his dark path.

This article provides an in-depth look at everything we know about Dexter: Original Sin, from its storyline to the cast and production details. We have a trailer, BTS, and more information! Check it out.

Release Date & Where to Watch

Dexter: Original Sin will premiere on Friday, Dec. 13, 2024, on streaming and on-demand for Paramount+ subscribers with the Paramount+ with SHOWTIME plan before making its on-air US debut on Sunday, Dec. 15. This season will have 10 episodes.

Plot

Dexter: Original Sin dives into Dexter's early years, focusing on how he learns to control his killer urges more positively. In the original show, we found out Dexter made his first human kill in 1991 at age 20, targeting a nurse who was poisoning his adoptive father, Harry. This new series will likely recreate that pivotal scene.

Set in 1991, it shows Harry still alive and working at Miami Metro, guiding Dexter to manage his Dark Passenger and setting the stage for his future as the Bay Harbor Butcher. We'll witness the creation of Dexter's Kill Room and the development of The Code and learn about his blood sample slide ritual.

The series also offers a chance to delve into Harry's psyche as he grapples with Dexter's murderous behavior before taking his own life. Additionally, we’ll explore Dexter’s early relationships with his coworkers and perhaps discover why he always brought in those donuts.
