Is There a Trailer for Death In Paradise Season 14?

The BBC has yet to release a trailer for the new series of Death in Paradise. We’ll be sure to update this space as soon as one becomes available.

Did Ralf Little Leave Death in Paradise?

Ralf Little has officially left Death in Paradise after portraying DI Neville Parker since 2020. He departed in the final scenes of season 13, sailing off into the sunset alongside Joséphine Jobert's Florence Cassell. Reflecting on his time on the show, Ralf shared: "My time on Saint Marie has come to an end – what an end! New adventures await Neville, and he got to sail away into the sunset with his best friend.” (via Digital Spy)

Speaking about his departure, Ralf expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support from fans during his four-and-a-half-year journey to Radio Times. "I want to say an enormous thank you to everyone who watched and supported the show when I arrived four and a half years ago.

He added, “Coming into a series beloved by millions was a huge responsibility and I had no idea whether viewers would take to my interpretation of Neville's character, and indeed to me. It was quite a relief that the response has been overwhelming, and it's been an absolute privilege and a pleasure to bring Neville Parker to all of you and to share his quite profound journey with you."

After his final episode, Ralf revealed on BBC Breakfast (via Hello! Magazine) that the decision to leave was mutual between him and the production team. "This last series was always going to be my last. If it was just a heart decision, I would have wanted to do it for 20 more years. But for the show and my character Neville, it felt like his story was finished. He deserved a happy ending, and it just felt right."

Who plays the new detective on Death in Paradise?

Don Gilet, known for his roles in Holby City and EastEnders, is the new lead detective on Death in Paradise. He takes on the role of DI Mervin Wilson.

Discussing his new role, Don shared to Wales, "I'm sure it won't be a surprise to say that it was both exciting and terrifying in equal measure. I liken it to one of those scary rides at a theme park. I'm going on it, and I know it's going to be scary, but I'm going to do it.

Reflecting further, he added, "You’re daring yourself. Then you sit in the seat going, ‘What have I just let myself in for?!’ But it was exciting because I knew I was embarking on this new journey."

Will Joséphine Jobert Return as Florence in Death in Paradise Season 14?

Joséphine Jobert will not be returning as Florence Cassell in Death in Paradise Season 14. Although she briefly reprised her role in season 13, the actress feels her character’s journey has reached its natural conclusion, with Florence leaving Saint Marie alongside Neville.

Addressing a fan’s question during an Instagram Q&A about a potential return, Jobert stated, “No, Death in Paradise is now over for me. I've already left and rejoined the series several times, and I've more than served my time. I'm very grateful for everything it's given me, both personally and professionally, but I have to move on. But, I’m very touched to be asked this question. It’s all love!” (via OK!)
