Daredevil: Born Again is finally here after years of waiting and fan petitions. Charlie Cox returns as Matt Murdock after a couple of cameos in other Marvel projects. Also, Karen Page, Foggy Nelson, Bullseye, Vanessa Fisk, and Wilson Fisk return.

The show has connections to the original Daredevil show, but also, the MCU opens up this universe in unique ways. So what happens in the first two episodes, and does Foggy die in Daredevil: Born Again? In this article, we will discuss it all.

Does Foggy die in Daredevil: Born Again?

Yes, Elden Henson's Foggy Nelson gets shot by Wilson Bethel's Bullseye in the first episode of Daredevil: Born Again. Bulleyes tracks down Foggy at Josie’s (a bar), and without Daredevil there to save him (Matt was busy saving Foggy’s client), there’s no hope for Foggy. Daredevil does show up later and fights Bullseye before he can shoot Karen.

Foggy bleeds out as Daredevil and Bullseye fight inside the bar. Foggy dies, and this rips Matt from the inside. Bullseyes smiles, knowing that he has broken his enemy. Daredevil does throw him off the roof, but he manages to survive, although heavily injured.

The Aftermath of Foggy’s Death

Foggy’s death breaks up the trio. Matt decides to stop being Daredevil while Karen moves out of New York to San Francisco. This also puts a spanner in Karen and Matt’s once-promising romance. It’s also stated that even though Matt tried to connect with Karen for over a year, she didn’t respond.

There is a lot of animosity from her side because he wasn’t there for her when she needed him the most (after Foggy’s death). However, killing off Foggy allows Marvel to take the show in a new direction.

Why did Bullseye kill Foggy? Is he Sentenced for Foggy’s Murder?

In the original Netflix show, Wilson Fisk made a pact with Daredevil to never go after Foggy or Karen as long as Matt didn’t hand over Vanessa to the cops. Bullseye never made a similar promise to Matt/ Daredevil.

Also, yes, Bullseye is sentenced and has to serve 11 life sentences consecutively. Matt testifies against him. As for who put the hit on Foggy, Matt questions Fisk, but he denies any involvement in this.

What Happens to Hector Ayala's White Tiger?

With Daredevil not protecting the city, it is White Tiger who steps up. Hector Ayala’s hero didn’t have the suit or amulet, but he still went forward to help someone in need. The two men who were beating up a stranger were undercover corrupt cops, and during the tussle, one of them died after coming under a speeding train.

This got Hector in trouble, but with Matt representing him, there’s hope for him. He also later learns that his client is the White Tiger. It looks like this plotline will eventually lead to the return of Daredevil and Frank Castle’s Punisher, as one of the cops has a tattoo of the Punisher logo.

What is Wilson Fisk Doing?

Wilson Fisk is now the mayor of New York City, and it looks like his main aim is to rid the city of vigilantes as Daredevil was the one who was stopping the criminal empires from rising in the city. It will be interesting to see how the show shapes up in the coming weeks.

Daredevil: Born Again episodes will stream every Tuesday on Disney+.
