What is Clean Slate About?

Clean Slate follows George Wallace’s Harry Slate, an outspoken and old-school car wash owner in Alabama. Things change for him one day when the estranged child he always thought was a son, shows up to a proud, trans woman, Desiree. She wants to create a relationship with her father, however that’s easier said than done.

They have almost opposite points of view when it comes to life. So, living together as roommates won’t be easy. But life’s turns ensure that the duo learn about each other and experience the milestones they missed out on. Along the way, Desiree will find that Mack, her father’s employee likes her a lot.

She also finds herself making a connection with Mack’s young daughter. That’s not all. Desiree’s return makes it difficult for her to be in the Church and to make matters worse, it affects her best friend Louis, who is also the choir director. On the other hand, Ella, Louis’s mother and Harry are enjoying a developing relationship.

Soon, a shocking truth comes out about Louis. But Desiree helps him overcome it. What was initially planned to be a short trip, becomes much more than she could have imagined. But will the people and the complicated relationships with them be enough for Desiree to put down her roots here?
