What is the plot of Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2?

In Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2, Alucard has joined Richter and his band of vampire hunters, and they are all in a race against time. Erzsebet Báthory, the powerful Vampire Messiah is in a quest to get the power of goddess Sekhmet so that she can bring darkness and terror on the world. 

Characters like Maria, Annette, Tera, Edouard and more will also return after they have undergone emotional or physical changes post their encounters with the vampire cadre. Showrunner Kevin Kolde in an interview with TUDUM, hinted that Annette is the key to taking down Erzsebet. 

He said, “Annette’s being haunted by these images and spirits, and she’s trying to understand what’s going on. If she can figure out how to communicate with them the right way, to calm herself to listen, she’ll realize they’re really trying to communicate with her what she needs to do for her role in stopping Erzsebet."

The stakes are bloodier and bigger than ever as the Vampire aristocrats aim to take over the world. Season 2 will take viewers to the French countryside between Machecoul and Paris. But there’s a new location as well- Egypt. Creator and showrunner Clive Bradley said, “Alucard’s research into Sekhmet has taken him to an ancient Egyptian temple.”

Showrunner Kevin Kolde said in an interview with TUDUM, “Alucard is going to lead Richter and Annette to Paris to try and find the last element that would allow Erzsebet to achieve the full power of Sekhmet and become even more powerful than she was in Season 1.”

He also said that in season 2 Alucard becomes a sort of reluctant mentor to Annette and Richter. Creator and showrunner Clive Bradley said that he understands what makes Alucard so intriguing. He said, “He’s half vampire — he has some of the powers of a vampire, but [he’s] not a vampire — so he inhabits that twilight world [with a] foot in both camps.”
