Plot

Two-time Academy Award winner Renée Zellweger is set to reprise her iconic role as Bridget Jones in Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, a continuation of the beloved romantic-comedy series. The film, based on the third novel in Helen Fielding’s series, explores Bridget’s life in her early fifties as a widowed single mother raising two young children — 9-year-old Billy and 4-year-old Mabel — after the tragic death of her husband, Mark Darcy, on a humanitarian mission.

Now navigating modern challenges like dating apps, social media, and school politics, Bridget is determined to rebuild her life with the help of her loyal friends and her "Urban Family," including Shazzer, Jude, Tom, and her work colleague Miranda. 

Pressured to find love again, Bridget explores a budding romance with a charming younger man while also dealing with awkward encounters with her son’s no-nonsense science teacher. Adding complexity to her journey, her former flame Daniel Cleaver steps in to provide support.
