The Boruto series is currently amid the "Great Sea Battle of Kirigakure Arc," which several fans consider a filler arc since it's not manga canon. However, the manga seemingly considers some anime-only content canon, which means the current arc is "anime canon." The recent arc began with episode 232, with Team 5 being assigned a B-rank mission to the Land of Water.
In episode 235, Team 7, along with Kagura and his captives, were sailing to Doutou Island to seek members of the Funato clan. However, their boat is stopped by pirates who are patrolling the area. Everyone tries to remain hidden; however, Kawaki steps out of the shadows gasping for air. An altercation ensues, but our trusty young shinobis neutralize the guards with ease.
As they go on further, Team 7 quickly realizes that the pirate clan holds people hostage and forces them to work. Seeing that the situation is much worse than they assumed, Mitsuki and Sarada decide to go to the island first to conduct recon before confronting the pirate clan. Mitsuki and Sarada soon discover a bot planted by Team 5, eventually leading them to their hideout.
After regrouping with Team 5, Sarada learns that the Funato clan has also captured the researchers from Konohagakure! It looks like a lot more is going on a Dotou Island than we thought. Will Sarada, Mitsuki, and Team 5 free the hostages? Read on to find out when the next episode comes out.
Boruto: Naruto Next Generations runs a weekly schedule with new series episodes coming out every Sunday. The current arc in the Boruto series is anime canon; however, several fans believe it doesn't make sense since the anime changes the manga timeline. In any case, whether it's "anime canon" or "mixed canon," if it didn't happen in the manga, it cannot be considered canon.
The current filler arc in Boruto began with episode 232. Team 7 has entered Dotou Island, and the next episode will likely see Mitsuki, Sarada, and Denki's team trying to evacuate the captives there. Boruto Episode 236, titled "Cut and Run," will release on Sunday, February 13, 2022. Fans can check out the release time for the next episode, specific to their region, below.
The forthcoming episode of Boruto will launch at the usual time, 5:30 PM JST. Below is a list of all release times for various time zones:
The latest episodes of the series are available on Crunchyroll and Hulu. Fans who want to watch the episodes on the day of release will have to purchase a subscription on the platforms mentioned above.
