The series and manga of Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin) have come to an end, but there is good news for fans: a feature-length film called Attack on Titan: The Last Attack is set to bring back the Scout Regiment. While the story of the Survey Corps may be finished, fans will still get to see Eren Jaeger, Mikasa, Armin, and others from Paradis Island in the movie. It will be a compilation of the final episodes, combining both parts of Attack on Titan Final Season: The Final Chapters.
Director Yuichiro Hayashi said, "I originally drew the storyboards [for The Final Chapters] with the idea that it would be watched as a single movie. So, having the opportunity to have everyone watch it in the best possible environment, the theater, is a dream come true for me."
Hayashi mentioned that the visuals have been updated from the original versions for the theatrical release. Similar to the previous special, the theme song for The Last Attack will be Linked Horizon’s “To You 2,000… or… 20,000 Years From Now…," which, of course, relates to the story itself. The audio has also been upgraded to a 5.1 surround soundscape.
Here's everything we know about the final Attack on Titan movie, including a release date, teaser trailer, and more. Check it out.
Attack on Titan: The Last Attack premieres in theatres in Japan on Friday, Nov. 8, 2024. It will be a 145-minute movie.
Many years ago, the last survivors of humanity in Japan had to hide behind tall walls to escape the large, man-eating Titans roaming outside. Only the brave members of the Scouting Legion dared to leave the safety of the walls, but very few of them returned alive. People inside the city thought they were living peacefully until their safe world shattered. They were left with a horrifying choice: kill or be eaten by the Titans.
