Published on February 5, 2022
The English Dub voice actors for the Attack on Titan anime, Bryce Papenbrook, Trina Nishimura, and Josh Grelle, who play the roles of Eren Jaeger, Mikasa Ackermann, and Armin Arlert, have revealed what their characters would want for their "perfect endings." It's worth noting that the trio mentioned above have voiced their respective characters in the series since the very beginning.
Attack on Titan: The Final Season Part 2 began airing on January 9, 2022. Fans have been awaiting the release of the English Dub episodes ever since the first episode of the latest season, titled "Judgment," first premiered. According to the newest update, Crunchyroll and Funimation will begin streaming the English dub of the Attack on Titan The Final Season Part 2 anime on February 13, 2022. The Spanish and Portuguese dubs will also start streaming on the same day.
In addition, the series' English dub will also make its debut on Adult Swim's Toonami programming block on February 12, 2022.
Seeing where the anime is currently headed, it's safe to assume that our favorite characters will NOT have a happy ending. However, the actors who play these characters have shared their opinions on how Eren, Mikasa, and Armin would want the conflict between Marley and Paradis to end. Trina Nishimura, the voice of Mikasa, shared her thoughts on the perfect finale for the series, voicing her desire to see the main characters settling down in a time of peace.
She said, "Everyone gets together, and they all buy their own townhome, and they all live next door to each other, and nobody gets their townhome knocked down by a titan. They're just friends. On weekends, they barbecue. They hang out, maybe form a band. I don't know. That's how it ends." It sounds like a pretty optimistic ending to the gruesome events in the series!
Following up on Trina Nishimura's perfect ending, Josh Grelle, the English voice actor for Armin, mentioned how the characters should realize that they shouldn't fight before making a joke about fighting an unexpected main villain. He said, "Maybe we all realize that we don't need to fight each other. We all start using our Titan powers to fight stuff like NFTs."
Finally, Bryce Papenbrook, who currently voices one of the most controversial characters in the series, Eren Yeager, also shared his opinion on what would be a good ending. Papenbrook went on to talk about how Attack on Titan's perfect ending would be the Scout Regiment spending a nice day at the beach after all they've been through in the series. He said, "I think it ends on a true beach episode where they're just having a great day at the beach, just a good time."
