Release Date & Where to Watch

Are You Sure?! premiered on Disney+ on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2024, with the first two episodes. New episodes will be released weekly on Thursdays, with the season finale airing on Sept. 5, 2024. 

Plot

Are You Sure?! features BTS members Jimin and Jungkook as they explore some of their favorite destinations before starting their mandatory military service. The series takes them from the bustling streets of New York to the picturesque landscapes of Sapporo and Jeju Island. Throughout their journey, the duo engages in thrilling activities such as kayaking, hiking, and skiing, all while savoring local cuisines and meeting fans.

The show showcases their close friendship and adventurous spirit, promising a fun and heartfelt experience for both dedicated fans and newcomers alike. As Jimin and Jungkook embark on this memorable trip, viewers are in for an unpredictable and exciting ride filled with surprises.

The first two episodes of the show chronicled the pair's adventures in New York. In the third and fourth episodes, BTS' V (Kim Taehyung) will appear as a special guest on Jeju Island.

Who are BTS?

Formed in 2010, BTS started as a hip-hop group before branching out into various genres. Known for their lyrics tackling themes like mental health, coming of age, and loss, BTS quickly rose to international fame, becoming the best-selling South Korean musical act in history. 

They are credited with sparking global interest in South Korean pop culture, paving the way for acts like Blackpink, the Oscar-winning film Parasite, and hit Netflix shows like Kingdom and Squid Game.

What Exactly is South Korea’s Compulsory Military Service?

Military conscription in South Korea, established in 1957, mandates that all male citizens aged 18-35 complete compulsory military service. The duration of service varies by branch: 1 year and 6 months in the Army or Marines, 1 year and 8 months in the Navy, and 1 year and 9 months in the Air Force. After completing their service, individuals are placed on the reserve roster and must undergo three days of annual military training for the next five years.
