Apple’s Education event earlier this year was met with a positive reception after the tech giant announced its Schoolwork app. Schoolwork is finally available for iPad users and offers teachers the ability to sync with the Classroom app to offer one-on-one collaboration with students and manage assignments. Multiple Classroom users can sync with their teacher’s Schoolwork app to allow progress monitoring at school.
Apple has been trying to promote the iPad as an educational tool, and the move has been successful so far. With the iPad dominating the tablet market and a starting price point of just $329 for the 2018 iPad, it is a solid device that can replace a much bulkier classroom laptop. Teachers around the world can benefit from the Schoolwork app to enhance the learning experience for students.
One of the best features of the Schoolwork app is the ability to send announcements to all students of a classroom or conduct special activities like quizzes or interactive sessions. The Schoolwork app comes with a dashboard that allows teachers to get a summary of classroom’s progress as well as the time spent on each topic.
Schoolwork will also integrate with other educational apps like Kahoot to offer additional features. Just like other offerings from Apple, the tech giant has explicitly mentioned that security and privacy features are built into the app. Information is shared only when the users of the respective accounts explicitly choose to share their progress with others. The Classroom and Schoolwork apps can also sync with each other across multiple iPads to display the same content on all iPads in a classroom, allowing teachers to have control over the technology in the classroom.
