The long wait is over—Star Wars has finally dropped the first full trailer for Andor season two, giving us a thrilling glimpse at Cassian Andor’s final journey before Rogue One.

While we’ve had sneak peeks through cast interviews and Disney’s 2025 preview, this new footage confirms that the stakes are higher than ever. The trailer is packed with action, political intrigue, and returning characters, all leading to the rise of the Rebellion.

From the return of Orson Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn) to the reveal of a massive Imperial massacre, here are five major takeaways from the Andor season two trailer.

1. Cassian’s Mission Brings him to Yavin 4

Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) is seen walking through the bustling Rebel base on Yavin 4, marking the first time we’ve revisited this iconic location since Rogue One.

Series creator Tony Gilroy previously confirmed that Yavin 4 would play a role this season, but this trailer suggests we’ll see the base in its early days. Later in the footage, Cassian is seen departing from the Massassi base, possibly on a mission that leads him to the Ring of Kafrene, where Rogue One begins.

2. The Ghorman Massacre sets the Stage for Rebellion

One of the trailer’s most chilling moments shows stormtroopers firing on unarmed civilians, with the aftermath revealing a street littered with bodies. This scene is likely a depiction of the Ghorman Massacre, an event referenced in Andor season one.

In Star Wars Legends, Governor Tarkin ordered the slaughter of peaceful protestors on Ghorman, an act that helped solidify support for the Rebellion. Mon Mothma (Genevieve O’Reilly) was seen advocating for the Ghorman people last season, and it appears we’ll witness the full consequences of the Empire’s cruelty.

3. Cassian Steals a TIE Avenger for a Daring Escape

We get a closer look at a thrilling action sequence featuring Cassian piloting a TIE Avenger—an advanced TIE fighter originally introduced in the 1994 Star Wars: TIE Fighter game.

The footage shows Cassian maneuvering through an Imperial hangar while under heavy blaster fire, before taking the ship into battle. He’s later seen using the fighter’s missiles to attack an Imperial vehicle on a remote planet, possibly as part of a rescue mission for the Ferrix rebels.

4. The Return of Orson Krennic and the Death Star’s Construction

The trailer gives us another glimpse of the Death Star under construction, tying directly to the post-credits scene of season one, where it was revealed that Cassian and the prisoners of Narkina 5 were unknowingly building components for the superweapon.

Orson Krennic, the mastermind behind the Death Star, makes his return, now seemingly in direct conflict with ISB officer Dedra Meero (Denise Gough). We also see a tense interaction between Krennic and Mon Mothma, as the ISB looms in the background.

5. The Growing Divide Between the Rebels

Saw Gerrera (Forest Whitaker) is back, and his extreme tactics are once again at odds with the rest of the Rebellion. One ominous scene shows two X-Wings and an Aurore-class shuttle (a ship from The Clone Wars) taking off from Massassi base, leaving behind a fallen Rebel soldier.

By the time of Rogue One, the Rebellion and Saw’s Partisans are on opposing sides, and this scene could depict the moment that schism deepens. Meanwhile, Luthen Rael (Stellan Skarsgård) appears lost, possibly feeling his role in the Rebellion slipping away as Mon Mothma takes center stage.

Bonus: K-2SO and Mon Mothma’s Chandrilan Celebration

Fans get another look at K-2SO, teasing his first meeting with Cassian and the start of their unlikely partnership. Additionally, we see Mon Mothma at a lavish celebration, possibly her daughter Leida’s wedding. A brief moment shows Mon Mothma’s mask of composure slipping, hinting at lingering regret over arranging the marriage for political gain.

As Cassian ominously states in the trailer: “We’re in a war.” With the Rebellion reaching its tipping point and the Death Star’s construction nearing completion, Andor season two is shaping up to be a powerful and explosive conclusion to Cassian’s story. Check out the trailer here:
