On Wednesday, Amazon launched its content-streaming Fire TV Stick, a media player that plugs into an HDTV and lets customers access its Prime Video and Netflix content among other services on television. Fire TV Stick would compete with devices like Google Chromecast, Amkette's EvoTV and Apple TV.
This service also comes with apps including Hotstar, Voot, Netflix, Eros Now among other platforms including the Amazon Prime Video content. And it cannot stream linear or live TV programming and cannot be mistaken for a set top box.
The Fire TV Stick comes with a remote which has voice search and the user can search content across many categories like Language, actors, singers, and several others. A user is not still clear with the idea, that if it can double up as a caster. Amazon says that anything that supports MiraCast can be cast on a bigger screen using the stick.
Fire TV Stick offers access to a vast selection of movies and TV shows, popular apps, and features designed specifically for customers in India including powerful voice search for Amazon Video titles in Hindi and English. Fire TV Stick also offers data monitoring and other features to help customers in India get the most from their data plan and stream more content using less bandwidth.
Amazon's Fire TV Stick in Indian market priced at Rs3,999. The Fire Tv will be available on Amazon India and in offline stores in Croma and Reliance Digital. Amazon has also tied with Bharti Airtel Ltd to give buyers of the Fire TV Stick up to 100GB of free data and 4G home Wi-Fi devices.
Amazon will also offer those who buy the device before May 31, Rs499 credit back in Amazon Pay Balance, as long as they also subscribe to the Annual Prime membership plan.
In terms of specification feature of Fire TV Stick has a quad-core processor, 802.11ac MIMO Wi-Fi, 1080p HD video capability, Dolby Audio.
