Amazon's "Best of Prime 2018" Reports the Best-Sellers in its Prime Members Orders
Last updated June 14, 2021
Amazon Prime Wardrobe was announced last year and is finally coming out of its beta testing phase. The service is now available to all Prime members in the US and will be available to more Amazon Prime customers over time. The service was launched today for not only Amazon’s in-house clothing brands but also popular international brands like Levi’s, Calvin Klein, Hugo Boss, Puma, Armani Exchange and more.
Personalized online shopping services have been on the rise with services like Trunk and Stitch Fix allowing customers to order multiple pieces of clothing and choose the ones that fit while returning the rest. Amazon is offering something completely similar to compete with such personalized services, and Amazon Prime users will be able to order a minimum of three pieces of clothing and a maximum of eight in each Prime Wardrobe Order. Once users try the clothes, the remaining pieces will be picked up by Amazon and the billing details will be adjusted accordingly. Unlike Trunk and Stitch Fix, Amazon will not be offering stylist services for its users.
With clothing designers offering drastically varying sizing options, it is quite difficult for online shoppers to get the perfect fit without trying clothes on. The home try-on services make it convenient for online shoppers to grab clothes off Amazon without having to worry about fit or style.
Amazon’s entire catalog of clothing is not part of the Prime Wardrobe service. Users need to visit the exclusive Prime Wardrobe section and choose from the items on sale. The website mostly focuses on Amazon’s own brands like Amazon Essentials, Lark & Co, Daily Ritual and Goodthreads. While the collection may seem limited, if the service turns out to be successful it is likely mainstream brands will tie-up with Amazon to be part of the Prime Wardrobe catalog.
