The Amazon Echo Wall Clock that was first revealed last month has finally gone on sale on the official website. You can grab the new Alexa device for just $29.99 starting today. The device is simply an “extension” for other Echo devices, and it does not come with Alexa built in, and you cannot use it to stream music or give Alexa commands.
The new Amazon Echo Wall Clock is capable of connecting with other Echo devices and sync timers. The front of the clock features an illuminated LED display. You can see the current time as well as the remaining battery charge percentage. Users can set timers using voice commands the same way you would on other Alexa devices. The clock allows you to set up multiple timers at the same time as well.
The Echo Wall Clock requires your other Echo device to be within 30 feet for maintaining Bluetooth Connectivity. Amazon has offered connectivity options with pretty much all of its Echo devices dating back to the first-generation Echo as well as the new Echo Show and Echo Spot.
To set up the Wall Clock, simply bring the clock and a compatible Echo device in range and say “Alexa, set up my Echo Wall Clock.” It will automatically sync the time, and you are good to go. You do not need to manually adjust the clock for Daylight Savings Time thanks to the online sync.
Amazon had a great year with Alexa and Echo devices. A number of features were added to Echo speakers, and the Echo Dot was one of the highest selling products on the e-commerce website this year. With great support for the devices and functionality being added to them all the time, smart speakers from the company have been largely successful.
