The time to return to the jungle is coming soon since it has finally been revealed when Jumanji 3 is going to be released. The mammoth franchise began with the 1995 Jumanji movie starring Robin Williams. It followed siblings Peter and Judy Shepherd’s adventures when they began playing a magical board game that brought jungle animals from another world to theirs.
Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, which premiered in December 2017, was just a quasi-sequel to this film. The film collected more than $950 million at the global box office. A sequel released in 2019 called Jumanji: The Next Level topped $801 million globally.
The third film in the Dwayne Johnson starrer Jumanji saga will be released quite late, which fans might not like. In this article, we will discuss the release date, cast, plot, and more. We will also keep updating this article with new information as and when it gets released. So stay tuned for more info!
Sony Pictures has announced that Jumanji 3 will premiere in theaters on Friday, Dec. 11, 2026.
In Jumanji: The Next Level, Jurgan the Brute was the boss at the end. Initially, it was assumed that he was a non-playable character much like Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle’s Bobby Cannavale’s Professor Van Pelt. But later, it was revealed that Jurgan is an avatar in the game.
This means that someone is controlling him. As such, it's safe to say that the identity of the player will be revealed and explored in the next film. Fan theories have already flooded the internet with many wondering if the same person who fought the crew as Van Pelt was the one controlling Jurgan The Brute.
Others predict that this gamer could be the one causing the rift between the gaming world and reality.
No trailer for Jumanji 3 has been released yet and since the release date is in late 2026, so we think that we won’t be seeing one at least till late 2025. However, we will keep you updated as and when it is released.
The cast of Jumanji 3 has not been confirmed till now, but this is the cast that is expected to return:
As per Independent, Chris van Allsburg, the man who wrote the 1981 children’s book, Jumanji, which inspired the 1995 film of the same name, Jumanji is a Zulu word that means “many effects.” These “effects” refer to “the exciting consequences of the game” and this includes unleashing untamed tigers, wild monkeys, and more into the real world. So every roll of the dice would unleash some new effect.
Jake Kasdan will return to direct Jumanji 3. Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia, Hiram Garcia, and Matt Tolmach are the producers and the film will screen in IMAX and premium large format.
