Daredevil: Born Again season two is expected to release in early-to-mid 2026 as part of the MCU’s Phase Six. The upcoming season will feature eight episodes—one fewer than the first, which is now streaming on Disney+.
Daredevil: Born Again season two has its hands full, picking up after a chaotic finale that leaves New York City in crisis. Vanessa’s scheme to turn Red Hook into a crime-infested freeport is exposed, and a citywide blackout sends the streets into chaos. Kingpin seizes control—crushing the police commissioner’s skull and declaring martial law.
Matt Murdock tries to rally resistance against the regime but realizes he can't do it alone and retreats. Frank Castle, ever relentless, storms Red Hook, is captured, but escapes in a post-credits reveal. Season two is poised for a fiery showdown between Daredevil and Kingpin.
Matt, now fully embodying the Man Without Fear, hopes to inspire New Yorkers to rise up. Kingpin, meanwhile, is cracking down on vigilantes and dissent with iron-fisted control. Producer Sana Amanat teased to Marvel that season two will “hopefully be even more fun.”
New set photos reveal that Matt and Karen are laying low—Karen with a brand-new look and Matt in a hood and sunglasses—possibly due to Fisk outlawing vigilantes. One image shows Matt heroically saving Fisk from Bullseye, taking a critical hit in the process, and then vanishing. The public thinks he’s missing, but Matt may have gone underground to fight Fisk’s tyranny.
Rumors also swirl about Daredevil recruiting other heroes, like The Defenders, to stand against Fisk’s regime. While not officially confirmed, the idea echoes Marvel’s Devil’s Reign storyline, where a team-up was vital to toppling Fisk’s empire.
Also possibly returning: Fogwell’s Gym, the gritty boxing venue and Matt’s training ground from the Netflix series—hinting at deeper ties to the original Daredevil. This, along with the return of Karen and possibly Foggy, signals a heartfelt reconnection with earlier character arcs.
Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio, who’ve read six of the eight episodes, are thrilled. Cox told Screen Rant, “That’s some of my favorite stuff I’ve read of Daredevil.” D’Onofrio added, “It’s going to be quite something by the end of it… it’s going to be a crazy season.”
In a roundtable with IGN, D’Onofrio shared a more emotional take, “There’s already information about what we’re about to start shooting in the second season that I had to have a little cry about… This show can be quite intense as an actor.”
Tonally, season two dives darker. Fisk is entrenched as mayor, enforcing fascist control with a militant police force. Costumed heroes are now outlawed, drawing comparisons to Civil War’s Sokovia Accords but on a New York scale.
Matt, now a full-time Daredevil, must confront Fisk's regime with help from allies like Karen Page, Cherry (Clark Johnson), and Detective Kim (Ruibo Qian). His legal identity sidelined, Matt becomes a symbol of resistance. As in the Born Again comics, Fisk aims to destroy Daredevil’s world—but a man without hope is a man without fear.
Scardapane told IGN, “Karen Page is the heart and soul of this universe and of this Daredevil mythology… and this season and beyond is huge.”
Season two isn’t just continuing a story—it’s building toward a war. With new alliances, high-stakes action, and deeper emotional arcs, Daredevil: Born Again is gearing up to become one of Marvel’s most impactful chapters yet.
These are the confirmed cast members as of now:
With filming underway, a trailer for Daredevil: Born Again season two likely won’t arrive anytime soon. However, there’s a chance a brief teaser might be shown behind closed doors at San Diego Comic-Con this July or D23 in August.
While nothing’s confirmed, there are some hints. Vincent D’Onofrio, who plays Kingpin, addressed part of the crossover speculation in a recent interview. When asked about possibly appearing in Spider-Man 4, he told the Happy Sad Confused podcast, "The only thing I know is not positive. It's a very hard thing to do, for Marvel to use my character. It's a very hard thing to do, because of ownership and stuff," he said.
He added, "Right now, I’m only usable for television series. Different kinds of series, whatever it is, but not even a one-off Fisk movie or anything like that, it’s all caught up in rights and stuff. I don’t know when that would work out, or if it ever would work out at all, actually."
So while Kingpin might not be swinging into the movies anytime soon, Daredevil is more likely to show up—especially considering he appeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
As for Avengers: Doomsday, rumors continue to swirl. Though the now-debunked concept art hinted that both it and Secret Wars would pull inspiration from Jonathan Hickman’s Secret Wars run, Marvel hasn’t confirmed anything. In the comics, God Emperor Doom ruled over Battleworld—a patchwork universe that included locations like Spider-World and Manhattan, which opens the door for potential appearances by street-level heroes like Daredevil.
It’s possible Daredevil: Born Again season two will wrap up before Avengers: Doomsday, with the events of the show either feeding into or running parallel to the multiversal chaos of Doomsday or Secret Wars. But for now, it’s all just speculation.
Yes, and they look incredible. Set photos from the first episode of Daredevil: Born Again season two show Matt Murdock donning a striking black suit featuring a bold "DD" emblem on the chest and red eyes—a look that strongly echoes his Shadowland comic arc. It signals a powerful return to Hell’s Kitchen and could hint at either a time jump or the impact of season one’s events.
Bullseye is also getting a suit upgrade. Set pics reveal a costume that includes his signature target emblem on the forehead—though it’s subtle, blending into the rest of the outfit. Still, it’s a welcome nod to his comic book roots and suggests a more faithful portrayal of the iconic villain moving forward.
Filming for Daredevil: Born Again season two kicked off in late February 2025 and is set to continue through July. Production is currently underway in New York.
Sana Amanat shared some exciting insights with Marvel, saying, “We’ve been shooting a lot of crazy sequences. The crew is crushing it, and the action is nonstop.” She also hinted at a shift in the setting: “The backdrop is a little different. It’s still New York, but it’s a slightly different kind of New York.”
Expressing her enthusiasm for the new season’s footage, Amanat added, “I’m very excited about the material we’ve been getting. I’ve been fangirling all week.”
Season two of Daredevil: Born Again will feature eight episodes, with directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead returning to helm a block of episodes, including the premiere and second installment. Executive producer Brad Winderbaum, who also heads Marvel Television, emphasized their importance to Collider, saying, “They are fundamental in establishing the tone of Born Again. Those guys are tonal masters.”
Winderbaum continued, praising their approach to storytelling: “The way they tell a story, they know how to pull the levers of drama and tension especially, like no one else.” He added, “They're amazing. I would work with them forever if I could.”
Dario Scardapane returns as executive producer and showrunner for season two, a role he also held in the first season. As Charlie Cox told Screen Rant, Scardapane penned the pilot and the final two episodes, calling the new season “so cool and so different and so sinister,” and adding, “I’m really, really excited about it.”
