ABC is getting ready to welcome the holiday season in the right mood and prepares to have us in stitches with live audience renditions of All in the Family and Good Times. We'll be watching Live in Front of a Studio Audience online, so come join us in finding the best way to do this!
Sitcoms are awesome and when you put them in front of a live audience, things get even better. The last time Live in Front of a Studio Audience aired was back in May and it was a major hit with the audiences, with over 10.3 million people watching the premiere and over 23.5 million total views over three airings. The special was even nominated for a few awards and won an Emmy for Outstanding Variety Special and a Critics' Choice Award.
This time around, the night will be split in two - first we'll get to laugh with All in the Family, while in the second part of the night we'll get to watch Good Times. Jimmy Kimmel and legendary TV producer Norman Lear are the minds behind the special, just like back in May.
We're bringing back the Emmy-winning phenomenon, #LiveInFrontOfAStudioAudience, for classic holiday fun Wednesday at 8|7c on ABC! https://t.co/7cAHN3jVf5

Nowadays, it's super easy to watch content online, even if it's a TV show. When it comes to watching Live in Front of a Studio Audience, you'll need a platform that features ABC, and those are just a few. More specifically, we think you should go for Hulu with Live TV, because it will help you watch content from ABC and dozens of other TV networks. Start your 7-day free trial on Hulu today!
If you want more content beyond the main bundle, you can get that by adding a couple of channel packs and several premium networks to your subscription. One of the best parts about subscribing to Hulu's live TV plan is that you also get access to the video-on-demand library, so you get the best of live TV and streaming worlds. Hulu also works on pretty much any device you have at home, including iOS and Android phones and tablets, Chromecast, Roku, Apple TV, Android TV, Fire TV, and more. (Note: ABC is a channel that broadcasts in select markets only so if you live in an area that does not get access to the channel, not even a live TV will solve the problem for you. You can, however, use a VPN to connect to a server that's located in a different city where ABC is available, and the site will deliver the channel for you. Click here to learn what you have to do.)
Here's how you can start your 7-day free trial on Hulu:
YouTube TV - If you want to watch Live in Front of a Studio Audience on ABC, you can also go for YouTube TV, which is a great single-bundle platform that will allow you to enjoy a ton of content. If you want to customize your subscription, you should know in advance that they have no channel packs to add, but there are a few premium networks you can add. On YouTube TV, subscribers get to enjoy unlimited cloud DVR storage space and watching content on up to three devices at once.
Watching content online can be quite easy to do, even when it comes to TV channels, but there are some hurdles on the road. More specifically, live TV services and streaming services are all geoblocked, so you're going to need to get creative if you ever travel outside of the United States. The issue here is that there are licensing deals in place that can't allow these companies to allow streaming in other countries beyond the US. Thankfully, this is a problem that you can fix yourself by using a VPN to change your IP address so you appear to be in the US instead of whatever corner of the world you're actually in. If you're looking for recommendations, we can point towards ExpressVPN, which is one of the best on the market today with thousands of servers across the world and tight security and privacy features.
Here's how you can use ExpressVPN to watch Live in Front of a Studio Audience from abroad:
Yes, this is something that you can do rather easily because the ABC website carries a live stream that you can access. There's also an ABC Go app that you can get for your mobile devices if you want to have more room to move around. In order to access the live stream, you'll have to use credentials from your TV provider, which can be a live TV service, or a cable company. (Note: The ABC website and app are geoblocked, so if you're going to travel abroad, you'll need to use a VPN to access the content, so you appear to be back in the US. Click here to learn how you can use a VPN for the job!)
ABC is one of the few channels that continues to broadcast over the air, which means that you can use a TV antenna to watch the content. TV antennas are easy-to-use devices that will allow watching dozens of networks, although the number will vary depending on your location.
Talking of your location, you should check a site such as NoCable if you want to figure out what channels broadcast in your location, so you can see whether or not ABC is even an option. Furthermore, you'll also get to see how far the broadcast stations are from your location so you can figure out what range you need your device to cover. Make sure to check the devices we listed above in case any of them have the right features you need to enjoy your show!
Sure you can! After the show airs, you'll be able to watch the whole thing in a couple of place. One of these will be on ABC's website, where you can usually find shows that have aired soon after this happens. Also, another option will likely be Hulu, who already has the first special available for streaming, featuring All in the Family and The Jeffersons. In a similar fashion, it will likely get access to the new one soon after it airs, too.
