Who doesn’t love to have a good laugh, right? Well, America’s Funniest Home Videos is coming back to screens across the USA this September and we’re planning to watch it all online. Will you join us?
America’s Funniest Home Videos first aired back in the early 90s, originally in the form of a “special,” before turning into a full-fledged show. For obvious reasons, the show quickly became a hit with viewers, since it featured hilarious videos of people’s mishaps. Nowadays, the show is presented by Alfonso Ribeiro, whom you’ll know quite well for playing Carlton in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (everyone knows the Carlton dance, right?).

Aside from the chance at 15 minutes of fame as their videos go viral, people are encouraged to send videos to the show for a chance to win a hefty money prize of $100,000. And the videos are worth it, after all! Whether we’re talking about kids getting in all sorts of trouble, grown men following the “hold my beer” mantra before doing something stupid, or pets being their cute and stupid selves, they’re all going to get us laughing.
This upcoming season will be the 30th, so we’re going to assume you already know that this is an ABC show, right? Well, if you didn’t, now you do! The new season will be landing on ABC on September 29th, so you’re going to have a fun Sunday evenings at 7/6c since the show airs at 7 PM. Usually, America’s Funniest Home Videos runs through May, so we expect the same will happen this year. That’s a lot of fun weekends!
It's super easy to watch TV online these days, especially channels like ABC. Your best option to watch America's Funniest Home Videos without cable is using Hulu, which is a great platform with a ton of channels organized in a single bundle. Start your 7-day free trial on Hulu now! One of the best parts about Hulu is that while you pay the monthly fee for the live TV service, you also get access to the full video-on-demand library that they have at their disposal. If you want to customize your plan beyond the main bundle, you can add a couple of channel packs and several premium networks.
Hulu works on iOS and Android phones and tablets, FireTV, Apple TV, Roku, Xbox, Chromecast, and Samsung Smart TVs, as well as web browsers. (Note: Hulu is a platform that's only available in the United States, so you're going to need to use a VPN if you want to access it when you travel outside of the United States. Click here to learn how to do this.)
Here's what you need to do to sign up for the 7-day free trial on Hulu in a few steps:
PlayStation Vue - We also have PlayStation Vue on our list and it's a great platform where all subscribers can record up to 500 programs to the cloud and enjoy content on five devices at once. There are four bundles here - Access, Core, Elite, and Ultra - and they all feature ABC.
YouTube TV - The next one is single-bundle service YouTube TV which offers subscribers unlimited cloud DVR storage space with the subscription.
One thing that you should know about live TV platforms like PlayStation Vue, Hulu, and YouTube TV, as well as streaming services, is that they’re all geo-blocked due to licensing deals. What this boils down to is that you can’t watch your favorite shows when you travel abroad because your access gets blocked the second your IP shows you’re no longer in the United States. This issue can be fixed somewhat easily with the help of a VPN service, which can be used to change your IP address to trick the site into believing you haven’t left the country. We can recommend ExpressVPN because it’s easily one of the best on the market, with thousands of servers across the world and dozens on US territories.
Here’s everything you need to do to use ExpressVPN to watch America's Funniest Home Videos when outside of the US:
Yes, that’s absolutely a possibility, seeing how ABC’s website features a live stream. You can access this live stream after signing up for an account by using credentials from your TV provider, whether a cable company or a live TV service. There’s also an ABC Go app that you can download and you can sign up for it in the same manner. The app works on iOS phones and tablets, Android phones and tablets, Amazon Fire, Apple TV, Android TV, Roku, Samsung smart TVs, and Amazon Fire TV. You can check them all out here. (Note: Again, ABC's website and app are geoblocked, so you'll have to use a VPN if you want to access them when outside of the US. Here's how you can do this.)
ABC is a channel that broadcasts over the air, so you can watch it with the help of a TV antenna quite easily. Antennas are favorites among cord-cutters because they are super cheap to buy and you get to watch dozens of TV channels for free. Of course, there are some downsides, such as the fact that you go from over a hundred channels to just a handful of them, but it’s free, so you don’t get to complain!
Since ABC is all about the local stations, you need to check and see if the channel is available for you by using a TV antenna. You should check a site such as NoCable, which can tell you which channels are available in your location over the air, and how strong their broadcast signal is. We’ve given you a recommendation, which is a great antenna, but if you want to do more research, have at it.
You most certainly can do that. ABC already has a bunch of seasons that you can check out there. Some of the videos are only in the form of “recaps,” while others you’ll get to watch in full. You can also check out a few episodes from the latest season on Hulu, with the new episodes heading over for the platform too, after they start airing.
You will also be able to purchase full seasons of the show from platforms like Google Play, YouTube, Amazon Prime, iTunes, Microsoft Store, and Vudu. Check them all out and see where you can find the episodes you’re interested in and for what price. At this point, the season coverage is pretty lacking, but more could be added at a later date.
