Reality competition shows either crash and burns or soars, because there is apparently no in-between, and The Amazing Race certainly is part of the latter group. If you want to make sure you can watch The Amazing Race live this year, we can help you make that happen.

The show will soon premiere its 31st season on May 22, 2019, which is quite a feat. The first time the concept hit the screens was back in 2001 and is the original of the Amazing Race franchise that has now reached the entire world.

The competition follows eleven teams of two race around the world, mixing in problem-solving, navigation, interacting with the locals, performing various types of challenges and working the budget to fit in various types of transportation. The goal? Win $1 million!

If you want to watch The Amazing Race, tune in on Wednesdays at 8/7c on CBS. Let's see what your options are to watch the whole thing online.

Can You Watch The Amazing Race Live On CBS for Free?

Well, you can watch the show over on CBS, but you can't do it for free. The site no longer features a live stream because the network is trying to push its own streaming platform, CBS All Access, which we'll discuss in a minute. So, while you can watch the show online, it won't be for free. Let's see what live TV platforms carry the channel.

What Live TV Platforms Can You Watch The Amazin Race On?

In this day and age, we use the internet for anything and everything, from chatting up our friends to binging on our favorite shows, from watching movies to working, so why wouldn't we also watch TV over the Internet? Live TV platforms offer something that cable never could - affordable prices and customization options. Plus, if you really want to, you can cancel your subscription in a heartbeat because there's no contract involved. Do we even need to mention that you no longer have to be home, tethered to your couch when your favorite shows start because you can watch on your smartphone on the bus home? Because you can. Well, if you want to cut the cord, you should learn more about the services you can switch to.

fuboTV - At the top of the list we have fuboTV, which is a great platform that comes with two bundles to choose from, called fubo and fubo Extra. Both of these feature CBS, so you pick the one you like best. When it comes to customization options, you can add premium networks and loads of channel packs, but those are all sports-oriented. They also offer a few pre-made packages that help you save money on add-ons. Make sure to read our fuboTV review to understand the service better.

Hulu - Next, we have Hulu which is a great platform that includes a single bundle to channels. The plan costs $44.99 per month and includes access to the video on demand service, as well as dozens of channels. CBS easily makes the list, so there's no need to worry about it. You can add a couple of channel packs and some premium networks if you feel the need for more. Start reading our Hulu review to better understand the service.

YouTube TV - Our list continues with YouTube TV, a platform that only costs $40 per month and includes access to dozens of channels, including CBS. The only way to customize the service is by adding premium networks since there are no extra packs available. Check out TechNadu's YouTube TV review to find out all about those really cool perks they offer.

DirecTV Now - We must also discuss DirecTV Now, even though the service is no longer among people's favorites these days. After suffering some major changes, DirecTV Now offers two new bundles called Plus and Max that feature few channels and cost a lot. Then, the five bundles they used to have got a new name and a new price that's about double than what it used to be. Check out our DirecTV Now review for more details on what they have to offer and to learn more about the changes.

PlayStation Vue - Next on our list, we have one of our favorites - PlayStation Vue. This one brings up four bundles to choose from, called Access, Core, Elite, and Ultra. All these bundles feature CBS, so you can choose the one you like best, although we do recommend Ultra since it also includes Showtime and HBO. There are also a couple of channel packs you can add, and several premium networks, of course. Our PlayStation Vue review will tell you the full story, including all about the perks that make the platform awesome.

CBS All Access - We must also discuss CBS All Access, the network's own platform. This one has two plans you can choose between - one with ads and one without - but they both give you access to the same stuff, namely a live stream and dozens of shows you can access on demand. The Amazing Race will be available live when it airs, and afterward. Make sure to check out our CBS All Access review for more details.

What Can You Do if CBS Isn't Available in Your Area?

CBS is one of the channels that are available locally, which is quite annoying for people living in certain areas of the US, including many cities in Alaska, for instance. The problem is that this situation expands to online platforms, even though you'd expect it not to. Well, at the very least, you can solve the issue when it happens online, since there's nothing you can do about it when it happens offline unless you take into consideration moving away. So, live TV platforms work like any other website and read your IP address to find out where you are. If your IP address were to reflect a different location, you'd be able to enjoy CBS. Thankfully, a VPN can help quite easily, so here's what you need to do.

Note: One thing we must mention is that the same steps we mentioned above can be used if you ever travel abroad and discover that live TV platforms are geoblocked. This happens due to licensing deals and it's completely common, although that doesn't take away from how annoying it is. So, since you can only access these platforms from within the United States, make sure to pick a US-based server on your VPN.

Can You Watch CBS With a TV Antenna?

Yes, you can. TV antennas have been the go-to solution for cord cutters for a long time since live TV platforms have been around for a few years only. Antennas can help you watch over the air broadcasts from channels like CBS, which means that you will no longer pay a dime to watch TV. This is pretty awesome, but you do need to consider that you can only watch maybe a dozen channels, depending on where you live.

Before making a decision, check out a site like NoCable where you can verify what channels are available over the air in your location and how strong their broadcast signal is. This should help you decide whether a TV antenna is worth it and how long the range on the device should be. If it's all ok, go ahead and make the purchase!

Can You Stream Older Seasons of The Amazing Race?

Well, sure you can. The first place to look is straight on CBS All Access if you have an account. Otherwise, you can totally try out Hulu, where you can find the first 29 seasons, so you can binge on them for a long time.

If you'd rather own the show, you can purchase copies from a wide range of sellers, including Google Play, YouTube, Amazon Prime, iTunes, Vudu, and Microsoft Store. Make sure to check them all out to find out whether or not they have the season you want and also if the price is right for you, since they may have deals going on.
