The Last of Us Season 2: What Secret is Dina Hiding from Ellie?

The Last of Us season 2 has already shocked viewers by adapting the one death from the game that most fans didn’t want them to. Now, it’s time for Ellie to face the aftermath of what has happened. Thankfully, she won’t have to do it alone since Dina will be by her side. But viewers who have played the game know that Dina is hiding a big secret from Ellie. It is one that could harm her revenge mission. So, what is it? 

Is Dina Pregnant in The Last of Us 2?

Yes, in The Last of Us 2 game, Dina (Isabela Merced), who is Ellie’s love interest and a secondary protagonist herself, is pregnant with her ex-boyfriend Jesse’s (Young Mazino) child. In the game, she reveals this information to Ellie after a harrowing set of events where both of them are almost killed by the clickers. 

During the subway attack, Ellie’s mask cracks, and she inhales the fatal spores in the game. Dina urges her to share her mask, but Ellie stops her from doing so because even a little inhalation of the spores can cause one to turn into the clicker. This shocks Dina, and that is when Ellie takes her mask off and reveals to Dina that she is immune. 

After they escape into an old, abandoned theater, both of them talk about their secrets. Ellie says that even though she is immune, she cannot make anyone immune, and neither can she turn them. This is when Dina gets overwhelmed with the information she is being told, as well as the harrowing circumstances they are in which causes her to reveal her pregnancy. 

Will Dina be Pregnant in The Last of Us Season 2?

While there have been no hints about Dina’s pregnancy in the show till now (like in the game), it’s almost certain that they will adapt that part of her storyline because it is crucial in establishing the family that she and Ellie will have on the farm outside of Jackson later on after they fail to take Abby out.
