What is the plot of HIM (2025) Movie?

HIM by Jordan Peele movie follows Cameron Cade, a rising football star portrayed by former college wide receiver Tyriq Withers, who has devoted his life—and identity—to the game. On the eve of professional football’s annual scouting Combine, Cam’s trajectory is shattered when he’s brutally attacked by an unhinged fan, leaving him with a devastating brain injury that threatens to end his career before it begins.

Just as all hope seems lost, Cam is offered a second chance by his idol: Isaiah White, a legendary eight-time Championship-winning quarterback and cultural icon. Isaiah invites Cam to his remote, high-tech training compound, which he shares with his influencer wife, Elsie White, promising to help restore Cam’s former potential.

But the road to recovery quickly turns harrowing. Isaiah’s motivational mantra of “no days off, no sleep, we grind” begins to feel less like coaching and more like indoctrination. The compound, initially a haven, becomes a pressure cooker of psychological torment. As Cam’s training intensifies, Isaiah’s charm gives way to something unsettling and cult-like, sending the young athlete spiraling into a nightmarish journey that blurs the line between dedication and self-destruction.

According to the official synopsis, Isaiah’s charisma “begins to curdle into something darker, sending his protégé down a disorienting rabbit hole that may cost him more than he ever bargained for.” The film explores a “blood-chilling journey into the inner sanctum of fame, power and pursuit of excellence at any cost.”

Director Justin Tipping described the project to Vanity Fair as a sports movie “translated through a classic spaghetti Western lens,” hinting at the film’s genre-bending ambition. During Universal’s CinemaCon presentation on April 2, Withers and Wayans introduced the film’s first footage.

Wayans teased the audience, jokingly calling the film “kinda like Rudy,” to which Withers shot back, “It’s nothing at all like Rudy.” He added, “It’s something that burrows under the skin.” (via THR)

Is There a Trailer for HIM?

The teaser trailer for HIM crashes onto the field like a horror blitz, fusing football glory with ritualistic dread. What begins with a high-octane look at a quarterback’s rise quickly unravels into something far darker. “Do you want this?” booms Isaiah White, as sweat-soaked gym scenes blur into blood-streaked nightmares and stadium cheers dissolve into something eerily cult-like.

Tyriq Withers stars as Cameron Cade, a rising quarterback whose NFL dreams are derailed by a violent fan attack. The trailer introduces his mysterious salvation: an invitation from football icon Isaiah White to train at a remote facility. But instead of recovery, Cam descends into a brutal and surreal regime. Ice beds, laser scans, and demonic figures with all-white eyes flash across the screen.

The dialogue amplifies the terror. “Talent is how hard you’re willing to work,” Isaiah preaches. “No days off. No sleep. We grind. I’m never good enough… that’s how great people think.” As the tension escalates, we see a player injure himself, grotesque mascots lurking, and needles plunging into dilated pupils. “What am I willing to sacrifice?” Isaiah demands. Cameron’s whispered response—“Everything”—hits like a gut punch, sealing the trailer’s descent from ambition into madness.

The trailer ends with one chilling moment, Cameron stands bloodied within a glowing sigil — part pentagram, part infinity symbol — arms spread in a Christ-like pose to form the "I" in HIM. With its fever dream visuals and psychological horror undertones, the trailer leaves one thing certain: HIM is not just a sports movie—it’s a spiritual and bodily reckoning.
