The film was showcased to accredited buyers as part of the Industry Selects program at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival on Sept. 6, 2024. The Avenue secured the film's rights.

What is the plot of Locked (2025) film? 

In Locked, a petty thief named Eddie breaks into a high-end SUV, only to find himself ensnared in a deadly trap set by its owner, William. As the vehicle becomes a prison, controlled remotely by William, Eddie must navigate a brutal fight for survival. 

Trapped in a high-speed game of psychological horror, Eddie faces an unrelenting battle as justice is twisted into something far more sinister. Escape is an illusion, and every move Eddie makes brings him closer to a chilling fate.

Behind the Scenes

Locked is an upcoming American action thriller directed by David Yarovesky. The film is a remake of the Argentinian action thriller 4X4 and is produced by Sam Raimi, with ZQ Entertainment and Raimi Productions backing the project. 

The screenplay is written by Mariano Cohn, Gastón Duprat, and Michael Arlen Ross. Ara Keshishian and Petr Jákl are producing under the ZQ Entertainment banner, alongside Raimi and Zainab Azizi for Raimi Productions. Filming took place in Vancouver in late 2023. 

Talking about his experience working with the cast, Yarovesky said in an interview with EW, “Working with Bill and Anthony was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. They are two of the greatest living actors, each having brought to life some of the most iconic villains of all time.”

Yarovesky added, “Now, they’re going head-to-head in a battle of wits — a fight to the death! Together, they are electric! I’m deeply grateful to both of them, as well as to Sam Raimi, for being such incredible creative partners and for trusting me to steer the ship
