Kenya Moore’s journey in The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 16 took an unexpected turn. Initially part of the cast, she was featured in the trailer for the season. However, Moore exited mid-season following an alleged altercation during filming.
According to People on July 25, Moore left the show after reportedly showing explicit photos of Brittany Eady at a group event. Rumors suggest this incident followed a heated exchange in which Eady allegedly threatened Moore with a gun.
Moore addressed the controversy on social media, denying the claims. “The rumors and narrative about me randomly showing nudes or revenge [porn] is 1000% untrue.” she stated.
She also took to Instagram, writing, "My heart is full and my conscience is clean. My life is blessed. My daughter and I will continue to thrive in a non-toxic environment where we feel appreciated and most importantly, protected." Despite her departure, Moore’s presence will still be felt in the season, as the trailer confirms she appears in some episodes.
Several familiar faces are leaving The Real Housewives of Atlanta for season 16. Kandi Burruss, the franchise's longest-running housewife, announced on Feb. 4, 2024, that she would not be returning to the show, as she is focusing on other ventures. A producer, songwriter, and businesswoman, Burruss has plenty to keep her busy.
The Grammy Award winner announced her decision in an interview with ET just as she arrived at the Grammys. She said:
“I’ve been going back and forth and I think because they gave us such a long break, I had a lot of time to do other things and I’ve got some big announcements to make coming soon, so yeah. I mean, I love the girls, they’re my friends, I’m still gonna see them and hang out with them. And Bravo is my family, I love them as well, but you know.”
After Burruss's exit, Marlo Hampton shared with TODAY on Feb. 24, 2024, "My contract with Real Housewives of Atlanta ended when season 15 wrapped. This break from RHOA is a fresh start, allowing me the space to participate in new creative entertainment projects focused on my future, and not reliving my past."
Sanya Richards-Ross will also be exiting the show after just two seasons, as revealed by Andy Cohen on his Sirius XM show during the March 14, 2024, broadcast. Joining the cast alongside Hampton, Richards-Ross failed to bring the energy the franchise needed.
Finally, Sheree Whitfield, who has had multiple stints on the show, including being one of the original housewives, appears to be leaving for good. Her name was absent from Bravo's recent cast list for season 16, and she has yet to make a statement about her departure.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta is produced by Truly Original, with Steven Weinstock, Glenda Hersh, Lauren Eskelin, Lorraine Haughton-Lawson, Glenda Cox, and Shanae Humphrey serving as executive producers. Kate Murphy and Saleda Bryant are the co-executive producers, and Andy Cohen also holds an executive producer title.
